Royal Pacific or Hard Rock?

My vote goes to HRH. We all loved it, every bit of it. Our boys were 7 and 10 when we 1st went there. By their 2nd visit, they had Guitar Hero and that was it. I thought ds would drool on the glass case that had a hat & guitar (or something like that) from Slash.
He said he felt like a VIP! We all loved the short walk to the parks.

Funny thing though, he asked to try something different so last time we went to RPR. Got a great view of the Hulk and plenty of relaxing time.

Thank you...I really have no clue and cannot get a idea from maps. DH and DS always go over there for two days in the parks. DD and I stay at Disney.

I did get what you meant about HRH filling up faster and actually, it's open now so who knows. I didn't know that either. Thank you.

Thanks for your input. I asked both of the guys where it was and they had no clue:goodvibes DH has NO directional sense!!

I'm sure it's easy to get to the parks though from any of the 3 from what I understand.

Have you looked at maps created with satellite image?

patster!!

you saved the day....

that map is perfect for the readers to understand the differences from hotel to the parks.

i was looking for that map for another thread the other day..

Thank you. That helps a great deal. DS actually likes Islands of Adventure better.

I assume there is a path to walk to get there?
I always feel a bit worried when I send DH off alone. He gets lost here at home.:goodvibes

when you stay at RPH, the walk way is well marked.

so is the water taxi area.

everyone here is glad to help you.
we all were newbies at one time too.

:goodvibes Thank you! DS loves the Coasters. I don't remember how many time he rode Hulk, but it was a lot.

When he graduates in 2010, he wants to go to Cedar Point! I haven't been there in years (grew up in Michigan), but looks like I'll be going again!

Great thread, great maps, & great posts! Quick question - is RPR the closest in walking distance to IOA?

Okay, now I'm confused. I see questions about what hotel is closer to which park. When I've been there I walk through City Walk and pick which park to go to and walk that way. I assumed you HAVE to walk through City Walk to get to either park...which would make it only matter how far your hotel is to City Walk entrance and it wouldn't matter which park you are closer to. What am I missing? Are there other entrances to the parks?

Thanks!
J-

Let's see if I can try to help. City Walk has more than 1 entrance. US is on one end of City Walk & IOA is on the other. HRH & PBR are on the end closest to US, whereas RPR is on the end closest to IOA. When we stayed at HRH we didn't really have to walk "through" City Walk to get to US - US was at the end closest to HRH. We didn't have to enter City Walk. We did have to walk down City Walk to get to IOA from HRH. Hope that helps!

ditto on what the flamingo said.

when you stay at the onsite hotels, pbh and hrh do not empty into city walk.

rph empties near margaritaville but still just at the edge of cw.

To further add to what Mac said: The RPR's pathway exits into Citywalk right at the bridge that leads to IOA. As you leave the pathway, Margaritaville's Porch of Indecision will be to your right and the bridge to IOA will be on you left.

The pathway from HRH and PBH (same path) exits in to the open area near the Universal Studios pillars(entrance).

patster did good!

i just love the way he uses his words...
it's always direct and clear on directions

Well I just started a new thread with the same question. Should have browsed down... Thank you for all the tips and opinons
