hi... i have been watching the rates for the last week on hotelmart usa. com while we formalized our summer vacation plans. the royal pacific resort was at 172.00 tax included for our dates for a standard room and i logged in today to officially make the reservation, and the property is no longer listed!!! those of you with experience, is it likely to reappear??? im so bummed i waited. thanks. also, any experiences with the comfort suites orlando turkey lake rd. property?? we need somewhere economical for just one night and they look pretty cheap. thanks so much !

go ask on the Universal studio hotels/resort site on this board about the Royal Pacific - they can probably tell you how to get a much better rate.

AAA has given that comfort suite 3 stars - so it must be pretty good.

Did you call the Royal pacific and ask for the Entertainment card rate or the FAN club rate?? I think you could get it cheaper than that.

I second going to the Universal threads.

We stayed at that Comfort Suites about 6 yrs. ago and were very pleased with the location. It only took about 5 min. to get to Universal. It was part of a package, so I have no idea what we paid per night. The suite was one long room (a little on the narrow side), with just a half wall separating the beds from the couch area. The bathroom is at the back of the unit, running the whole width- very roomy! From what I remember, the pool is in the center and the rooms circle it- you either have pool or parking lot view. If you can get it for about $60-$70/nt., it's a great location for Universal!

Seems like two topics are going on here, but I'm interested in both. Regarding Royal Pacific- I noticed last night that Expedia showed a $169.00 rate- 20% off for early booking discount. Sounds good, but must be prepaid.

On the Comfort Suites topic, are ya'll referring to the Comfort Suites Maingate East? I've reserved a suite for 7 nights in early May @ $53.99. Trip Advisor shows several positive post, but I'm still a little nervous.

I stayed at Royal Pacific and got a rate of $109 with the entertainment card, this was the year after it opened, but I would definitely call and ask about both the entertainment card and FanClub rate. On the Universal boards here there is a person who can help you get a Fanclub card if you need one. You can always book before you get either one. Good luck.

Toots, don't worry about the Comfort Suites Maingate East (on 192 behing Old Town). It is very nice, only a couple miles from the parks, and it was voted CS Hotel of the Year for 2003. It's only 2 yrs old, too. You got a good price, too.

I had a ressie there last year but canceled because I was able to get Orange Lake thru SkyAuction. However, all the research I did on it was good. One thing to know is that the bedroom part of the suite has only a half wall. It's not a separate room w/ a door, if that matters.
