So my hunny suprised me & said make reservations for the grand opening of the Mummy !!!:bounce:
What a sweety he is !::yes::
Now I am super :hyper: excited ! LOL
This will be our first stay at the RPR, (we've been to the PBH & the HRH before) & I want to know everything!!!!
What room were you in, how was the view, did you eat at TchopChop?
Oh & how are the bathrooms? Big like the Portofino? Is there a bathtub?
When we stayed at the Portofino, we ate breakfast at the resturant downstairs that had the buffet - does the RP have anything like this ?

Thanks everybody!!!!!

My experience at the royal pacific was terrific...we were on the concierge floor, at an extremely reasonable rate! Our breakfasts were in the lounge. You must eat at Tchoup Tchoup....it is the absolute best. I did find the rooms to be smaller at this hotel, and I expected the concierge floor rooms to be larger! All in all it was a nice stay and I would stay here again.

The bathrooms at RPR are not big like Portofino. The sink/vanity is separate from the bathtub and toilet. Nothing special. The rooms at RPR are the smallest of the three hotels. We have stayed at RPR twice. It is a lovely resort. Tchoup Chop is great. The pool area is beautiful. I think you will really like it - I know we do. Our deluxe room at PB was fabulous, but for the money, RPR is a great choice.

Thanks for the responses ! I'm so excited about the trip. The RPR sounds like it will be great for us - I can't wait.

We adore this resort!!! It is beautiful. I'd say the rooms are pretty standard........ the vanity area is seperate from the bathroom, yes, there is a bathtub, but probably like the one at home......... nothing fancy! We were in tower three, we were on the 6th floor, can't recall the exact room # right now. We had awesome views of Hulk, and DD............. the view was great!! The decor is "polynesian" in style, and nice. The atmosphere of the entire place is what really sold us........... we love the islands!!! Tchoup Tchoup is very good. We also really enjoyed Jakes.... a lot more casual and fun. The pool was super for our little one. We enjoyed the HUGE tropical drinks as we sat by the pool in the gorgeous moonlight...... ahhhh, it was so nice! We love the RPR and will not stay anywhere else!!!

Hope you enjoy your trip!!!

Thank you so much WendyPooh - I know it will just be great!!!

Now, I thought Jakes was a bar, am I wrong ? Is it a resturant?

Well kinda both I think.......... we ate dinner there, with our 3 kids....... but it wasn't late............ however, they did have karaoke singing going on........... too funny!!!!! We also go take-out on another night......... dh brought it to the room.......... as mom was worn out!!!!

RPR does have a breakfast buffet served in the Islands restaurant or you can order from the menu. Nice kids buffet area for dinner too, even their own sitting area if you want your kids to use it...otherwise they can get their food and bring it back to your table. There's nightly entertainment during dinner hour which varies. Check the schedule you are given when you check in. Unfortunately, we were too excited to actually read half the stuff when checking in.......I found out about the entertainment at Islands AFTER I got home and started reviewing my "souveniers" If you go to Islands for dinner, you should try their volcano (betchcantadrinkallathis) drink for two. It's a little pricey, but it's a once in a lifetime experience. Have fun!

Oh man! Am I geting excited!
This sounds like it will be an awesome trip - RPR AND the Mummy opening !!!:hyper: How exciting! ::yes::
Glad to hear they have the breakfast buffet like the PBH - that is vital!!!!

July will be our first trip to UO... I'm happy to see all the rave reviews for the Royal Pacific... it sounds like a terrific hotel.

In all of the pictures of the pool area I've seen, there are plenty of lounge chairs around, but no tables... just wondering, are there any tables to be had?
We like to hang out by the pool and play cards during the hot afternoons.

Yes, there are tables with umbrellas around the pool. They would be great for playing cards.

tinroad,
Here's a link to some pics of the RP including a few of the pool area & tables. The ones of the tables are near the bottom of the page. If you hold your shift key when clicking on a pic it will open in a new window, nice & big. Gotta agree, the RP looks beautiful! Hope this helps
