So, yesterday as I was leaving the hotel (to see a great community production of "1776" in Celebration...but that is beside the point), I noticed that something looked a little odd with Jake's Airplane. You know the one....its sitting across from the Resort Transportation Yacht's dock. Well, I noticed that both of the floating things under the wings were touching the water...normally one is up in the air. Seemed a bit odd.

SO THEN today as I am coming to work.......

All you can see is the wings and the tail!!! It has completely sunk to the bottom of the lagoon!!!!! Now it looks like it crashed into the water.

It is quite funny, and everyone has been laughing at the mess, but I dont know how they are going to fix this...with all the water in the cabin, its got to weigh ALOT. I am going to get some pictures tomorrow!

Oh No! am glad I got pics of it last Feb still afloat :lol,, poor Jake,, how's he gonna get out of this one? :lol

Wow!...I guess the weight of the plane just kept digging deep into the sand, so now it have sunk! Glad to see it afloat myself!

Monday saw some guys on boats around the completely submerged plane...they were evidently pumping air in and water out. As of Monday night, however...the plane was up, but sitting at a very peculiar angle with the right wing all the way in the water, while the left wing was sticking way up in the air...all very interesting.

YenSid1222,

Funny.......... we are going to rp in about a month......... and we're looking forward to seeing everything...... it's just not the same, when you're going " to the south pacific" and see the plane crashed into the water.......... YIKES!!!!!!! :p

YIIIIKES! We were there for the Grand Opening last July (almost a year ago to the date it has sunk!) and saw the plane arrive and be lowered into the lagoon.....I sure hope it is back to normal soon...we LOVE that plane, really made us feel like we were in the South Pacific.

HI ALL!

Last day 7/8 at City Walk near the bridge that goes to IOA, they were putting the right wing on the Seaplane Bar!.
That's right the Plane is an authenic Grumman Seaplane flown by Jummy Buffet and is now going to be a Bar.
"WOOOW!!!"
Is the Boarding Pass Line for First Class going to be long or WHAT!!

The legend is that he flew it into Nantucket Island Harbor off of Cape Cod Ma. and either flipped it or ir just sank , well if thats the original they did a great job restoring it, it is one beautiful bird.

ENJOY!!!
