Hi everyone!

My mom and I are going to be at Walt Disney World from October 4th till the 12th or 13th and I think we finally decided where we're staying. We both really like the Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside princess:. Now, we've stayed at Riverside before (once when it was Dixie Landings in the mansions in 1999 and once after it became Port Orleans Riverside in the bayou in 2002) but both times aren't too recent and we've never stayed in the Princess Rooms (haven't stayed there since before they even existed, obviously) so she asked me to post here and ask for some information.

Just how magical are the Princess Rooms? Did they add Rapunzel (and Flynn) to the rooms when she became a princess? All videos I've seen are clearly pre-Rapunzel so I'm personally curious about that (since Rapunzel's one of my favorite princesses). Also, any experiences, you can share would be greatly appreciated. princess:

Can't wait to read what you all have to say and thank you in advance for your help!

How close are the "Royal Rooms" to main building and bus transporation. From the resort map, it looks like you'd would have to cross a bridge to get to everything.

Please advise.

Yes, you do have to cross a bridge to walk to the resort center. It can seem far if you're tired. We had a room in Parterre Place building once and my 6 year old asked me why we were put in a building so far away - previous visits we'd been a lot closer to the resort center. If you're not tired its a nice walk! Check out the webpage previously mentioned for a map.

I have seen video on you tube of the Royal Rooms that does show Rapunzel's presence in the room decor: Rapunzel and "Prince Eugene" are included in the artwork around the room, and even Pascal makes an appearance!

Oak Manor is closer; some rooms in Parterre Place are quite far; thus the reason for the extra theming.

POR does have a bus loop, so you can always take the bus if you are tired.

As I posted previously, check out the POR thread; it is one of the most informative.

My experience was that they were VERY magical. We have always stayed at deluxe resorts in the past but stayed here in June as my entire family came and we needed something more affordable. I honestly loved my room so much more than any of the deluxe rooms we've stayed in. It was a bit of a pain to walk so much more but the Royal Rooms aren't too far away from the lobby area. I would definitely stay here again. The YouTube videos give you a good idea but it's SO much cooler in person. You'll love it. Also, I remember Prince Eugene is in a portrait but that's all I remember as far as rapunzel is concerned.

Hope this helps.
