Wow! DH told me he heard about the ship leaving the shipyard on it's way to it's inaugural voyage. So just for fun, we looked it up on Google and looked at it's concept art and videos. WOW! Talk about imagination! It's amazing to me how people dream of a concept and make it reality like this cruise ship. Couldn't ever imagine it possible. We love to cruise, but I must admit the size of it intimidates me. Not sure if it will ever be something we would put on our wish list.
Anyone booked to cruise on it?

I would like to go on it someday. I'd love to stay in one of those loft suites. But they are $$$$!!!

I am looking forward to reading traveler reviews on the ship to see how they feel the crowds are.

Supposedly it has a golf course on it. Not just a driving range thing, a whole golf course. That might convince DH to finally go on a cruise!

Me and my girls just did Freedom of the Sea this past August, and almost everyone that worked on Freedom, is going to the Oasis ship. The workers must have had first choice or something to work on the ship. I know their top "members" were receiving e-mails to do a "free" 3 day cruise over Thanksgiving Weekend. They have to be the "first timers" and let the crew know what is right and what is wrong. I would have done that cruise in a heart beat.

The price to cruise with Caribbean Cruise Line really isn't that bad if you book a stateroom or even a balcony room. A week in a balcony is probably $1200 a person. Put 2 more in the room and the price is half for each of them. The rooms are spacious, if you put away your clothes and suitcases.

Did you see the zip line?? I don't think so!!! ;)

We received a brochure on it a few weeks back.

There is also a new Norwegian Ship the Epic that has an ice bar & Blue Man Group & some other good things we may book that for next summer as an extended family cruise.

DH & I still love the QMII:lovestruc

Wow-that's cool! DS works for Princess, which is owned by the same "Head Company" as this new Oasis. I wonder if he'll be offered an opportunity to go over to that one. Then he could get a discount....Then....Works for me!

No, Princess is owned by Carnival Corp and nothing to do with Royal Caribbean and therefore Oasis of the Seas. :confused3

WOW! 6300 passengers!!! That's like a rock concert!! lol! I used to love it when a bunch of new ships came out. It makes the older ones easier and cheaper to book, lol! I'll tell ya, I love cruising because I love sitting in a deck chair with a good book and a drink. All the amenities in the world are useless to me; the seas lull me to sleep. Eat, drink and sleep with some of the best scenery in the world. I DO want an outside cabin with a balcony please - oh, and room service because I usually only make it to the dining room 2 or 3 times during the cruise. I rarely go in port unless it's one I've not seen or a favorite beach destination. I hate crowds.

Hey-you have fun on your inaugural pre cruise. I've done lots and they can be fun or funny. Keep your sense of humor and be ready to pahtay!

I am looking forward to it! Only short but a good way to test it!
Thanks!:thumbsup2

Will never do an inaugural cruise again....way to many kinks.

Shortbun, you should cruise transatlantic, perfect if you don't get off in ports. Very rough seas but we love it!

Well, this is a Tarvel Agents PRE-Inaugaral so I am not too concerned about kinks! Heck-it's free! We'll have a blast and see the ship in the process.
