We leave in less than 48 hours:woohoo: !!! Are there any route tips we should know/avoid pulling a camper once we get off I-4 and onto Disney property?
Thanks,
Maura

The easiest way to get to the fort for newbies is to enter on the Magic Kingdom exit. Stay in the right lane. You will pull up to the toll both....simply them them you are going to the fort to check in. They will wave you thru. Fort Wilderness exit is to the right, IMMEDIATELY after the booth. Its difficult to cut thru 12 lanes of traffic with a camper .......so please be in that right lane.:thumbsup2

Take the 429 off the tollway. There was nobody on this road. It takes you in my Coronado Springs. Only one toll on this road as well and worth every penny.

If you are coming down I 75 take the Fla Turnpike and exit at 429 and take this to WDW. Its a new road built as the Western Way entrance to Disney. It will save you a lot of time. We used to take I 4, but no more.

I havent been on I-4 in years.

I think it depends on if you are coming down I 75 or I 95. Kinda hard to avoid I 4 if you are coming down on I 95.

Go past the I4 cut off on I95 and continue south to the Beach Line [toll road]. Take this west to 417, also a toll, and follow the signs to WDW. Beware of advice from copilots. I4 can be a very scarey experience when towing.

As mentioned stay in the far right lane enter the MK gate and watch out for the buses that have the one lane to your right since they don't stop, but you have to get into that bus lane for the fort.

I-4 is fine and we always go down I-95 to I-4 and in. I-4 thru Orlando at rush hour can be hectic, but just stay in the second lane from the right and you'll be fine.

FtWildenessGuy, About how far further on 95 do you need to go to get to the BeeLine,miles/time? I saw it listed as 528 in the atlas I have. Also looks like it ends @ WDW. I see 417 also ends there as well. Does 417 end in the area of the Fort? As compared to just staying on 528? Any info would be great. I do not like I4 and it would be great to keep my parents off their as well.
Thanks a bunch.

My guess is it adds a half hour total to your trip and about 8.50 in tolls. There is a cut off from 95, 407, that hooks into 528. 417 comes in a little closer to FW.

Here are some directions from a previous post:

Travel on Florida Turnpike to Exit 267A (429S) (approximately 42 miles)

Travel on 429S to Exit 8 (Disney World/Hartzog Rd) (approximately 14 miles)

This road will take you to West Buena Vista Dr near Coronado Springs.

Turn right if going to All-Stars or Animal Kingdom Lodge, turn left if going anywhere else, then follow the Disney signs to your destination.

Tolls on the main Turnpike will be $2.50 for a standard vehicle. (More if pulling a trailer).

Tolls on 429S to Disney World will be just $1.00 as the Disney World Exit doesn't appear to charge a toll.

I go 95 to the LPGA BLVD. exit and go west down to 92. Turn right at light and go to the I-4 Exit. Saves going thru the Daytona traffic.

I-4 can be hectic but I try and go during midday or late afternoon. Beware of I-4 during rush hour especially when towing as people don't use blinkers and they love pulling in front of you.

I always go to the DTD exit (535) and come in that way. It's all about 6 in one hand 1/2 dozen in the other.

How far over on I4 does it bring you out?
