Where do you get your favorite masks to withstand long hours in the Florida heat! I searched the boards but most posts are fairly old. There’s 100000 options on Etsy and Google, really looking for first hand recommendations to specific stores. I spent (aka wasted) three hours last night looking at options!!! All my current masks fog and are not comfortable other than for short periods.

im Pooh sized and wear glasses.

thanks!

We have some CAN 99 respirator masks: https://shop.vitacore.ca/collections/frontpage/products/can99-respirator

These masks are great for glasses-wearing folk. They don't fog at all (nevermind filtering out 99% of particulate). They also aren't ear loops; rather the two straps go over your head. Wish we had them when we went in December. I have no idea how they would hold up in the heat though. They aren't cheap and It's a Canadian company but I looked and they do ship outside of Canada.

now that we are vaccinated we are using 2 layer chiffon masks and they dont fog even slightly, very easy to breathe in them too.just remember you cannot wear masks made of mesh or with holes.

Get some anti-fog stuff for your glasses. I’ve made it through 2 masked Disney trips with minimal fogging. Optix 55 Anti-Fog Treatment is what I got, but there’s tons of choices

I almost got anti fog for my glasses but was afraid it would ruin the coating on my glasses. I have anti-glare coating. How do you know the anti-fog is safe for glasses?

Got some from Uniqlo in Tokyo when this was all starting

My son has a round face and wears glasses. We've found the combo of disposable masks with a nose wire and the anti-fog treatment is the best for him.

I believe there are different formulations for different coatings, the product info on Amazon should tell you

As a respiratory therapist who’s worked the front line the entire pandemic in my hospital ER and a wearer of glasses I would recommend a mask with ties behind the head, not ear loops. And make sure they have a nose wire. My hospital handed out these copper infused masks a few months in and it was a life saver for me. They tie in the back and have an irregular shape. But my glasses almost never fog unless I’m looking down for an extended period. I know they can be bought online as I have coworkers who bought extras (I wash mine every night and hang to dry).

I don't like the nose wires, so what I've found works for me is to pull the mask up under the very bottom of my glasses. My mask is a very soft, pliable fabric, and if I pull it up very high on my nose so that my glasses are over the very top of it, my breath doesn't get into the glasses to fog them. It sounds like it would look funny but it really doesn't.

I think the solution that works best for each individual is going to be very personal for this issue; I really doubt my method would work for many people just as others' methods wouldn't work for me. You've just got to experiment until you find the what's right for you.

I share similarities with you. Mashing glasses down onto mask to "seal" it works when I'm not so sweaty that I then react to the mask being mashed into my face. I have had the best luck with the disposables as they are more breathable - work on electrostatics so can allow more air flow. For the heat and long term wear, I prefer the regular pleated ones though I wear them on a lanyard to secure behind my head rather than on ears - this angle helps with glasses fogging for me. The advantage of a lanyard is that you can better position the loops to better fit your face, which helps with the fogging. When I want a more sealed mask, my whole family goes with the KF94s you can buy from Amazon. We had to try a few different brands to find what works best for us - what fit DD and I was a different mask than what fit DH and DS, though both KF94s. The design of the KF94 just really hugs the face best for us and are much more comfortable than the KN95s, though not as light as the pleated masks. PM me if you want the links to what we ordered and how they fit - I don't want to run afoul of the rules by posting brand names.

This is all so helpful as we will be traveling to Disney in August. Beyond the glasses fogging question, which masks do you find are the most breathable/comfortable in the Florida heat?

I’m a local. Went to Disney Tuesday when it was 98 degrees. I used a Disney mask that says new material. My glasses didn’t fog and I could breath fine. But last Christmas we bought a set of Old Navy masks with a snowman, Santa, gray, and green mask.I love those masks. Easier to breathe. My cat demolished the grey one and I now keep the green far away from him. They have a metal nose piece and adjustable ear straps. I fog a little with them, but it’s shaped away from my mouth so there’s some breathing room, with a close fit at the chin.

oh thank you! I'll look at Old Navy, and I appreciate your help!
