This week, we have two delightful Disney animal adventures going head to head which are among Disney's most beloved classics.

This was another hard choice from. I actually just watched these two films here recently and I really enjoyed them both. 101 has a really unique artistic style that I haven't really seen in many other Disney films, if any. I really loved that. Cruella was a wicked and scary villain. The moment she showed up and you see her shadow from beyond the door, you can tell already what a foul nature she has. But overall, this was a fun and merry adventure film. I really liked it a lot.

Jungle Book, on the other hand, was more commonly drawn, but had a lot of beautiful colors and jungle scenery to look at. I totally loved that! I found myself looking beyond the characters in the scene, out into the jungle and just taking in all the wonderfulness of it. Shere Khan was a great villain too. He wasn't typical at all. Unlike, say, Scar, who was a backstabbing piece of scum, Shere Khan actually seemed like an honorable character. His only gripe was with man. If he would have eliminated Mongle, he most likely would have just went back into the jungle and left all the other animals alone. So I really like Shere Khan. He's like the rough and tough sheriff of the jungle, protecting it from the only thing he fears. Beyond that, this movie had a lot of other really fun characters. I still laugh at King Louie every time I see him.

So this here is another very tough choice for me. I'll post again when I figure out which one to vote for.

Neat match up of movies. These are some really good ones. It's a tough choice for me as well, but I think I'll go with 101 Dalmatians. But that's not to say Jungle Book was any less good. I loved that one too. I just have more fond memories of the other one from my childhood.

I also vote for Fantasia and Pinocchio. Does that still matter?

^ Those polls are closed and the winners have been chosen (after seven days) but you can keep voting or discussing them if you'd like. Otherwise, this is the current match going. Thanks for voting! (You'll see at the end of each match that I write in bold who the winner is) But the link is just more to show current voters how last week went.

Looks like so far we've got a tie going on this matchup! Lets see if we can get any more votes.... :woohoo:

I love them both but here is the memory that tipped the scales in favor of 101 Dalmations.

I own the original VHS tape of this movie. Back when it looked as if Disney would never be able to re-release this movie due to legal issues someone my husband worked with offered him $500 for it. This was my daughter Kari's favorite movie.. My now ex husband said we could make her a copy and sell the original (we really could have used that money at the time) I slept with the movie under my pillow for months until his co-worker got his own so my then husband wouldn't try to sneak it out of the house one morning. Needless to say this along with all our other Disney movies walked out with me in the Divorce.

This was a really tough choice, I grew up a huge animal lover so these were naturally two of my favorites as a kid. I had to go with jungle book in the end. I really like how the villains like stated weren't really villains but just acting on what they belived, both with shere khan and with Kaa who was pretty much just being a snake, I also really like the humor of this movie.

That is a nice story. To be honest, I have never heard about any problems Disney had with the rights to 101 Dalmatians. But wow! I can't believe there was a time when someone would actually offer $500 for a copy! :scared1: Glad they worked it out though. And I think that's awesome you slept with it under your pillow at night just to make sure it didn't vanish. Way cool! pirate:

Remember this was LONG AGO and VHS was new 101 Dalmations was one of the early ones released. The family that owned the copyright on the book sued after the VHS release due to the fact they had only sold the rights to the Disney to make the movie and they argued that they owned the VHS rights not Disney. I am sure ever since Disney's contracts have changed in the wording to include all forms of the movie, characters etc. But it finally was worked out I am sure it cost Disney a pretty penny to settle it.

The Jungle Book, hands down! There are just so many things that I love about that movie, it'd be too hard to list them all. Not that I don't also love 101 Dalmatians, it's great too, but for me it can't beat The Jungle Book. :)

Well I'm glad it all worked worked out in the end. I love that movie! Every time I see Cruella De Vil I think "You know, I bet she's probably best friends with Lady Tremaine and Madame Medusa. I'm sure they would all get along real well." (Though I know those three characters take place during different time periods in different locations)

For those who haven't seen it, here is an alternate version of the Cruella De Vil song. It's kinda spooky.

YOUR WINNER AND MOVING ON: THE JUNGLE BOOK (7 to 4)

Feel free to keep voting and/or discussing this matchup.

I've never heard that song before. Is it on the DVD? I agree that it is spooky.

I see that Jungle Book is winning. Not the one I voted for, but still a great movie.
