OK I would like someone to tell me EXACTLY what happens on the ride. My oldest DD would like to ride, but wants to know exactly whats going to happen. Don't worry about spoiling any "surprises" for us b/c thats exactly what we want....NO SURPRISES!!! So please tell me all you can remember from beginning til end. TIA

Go to search and type in "mummy". You will find lots of posts that will help you out.

Load station: Imhotep's minions prepare you by creeping you out.
1st scene: A mummified Reggie tells you to get out, but Imhotep bursts out of his sarcougophaus and steals Reggie's soul.
2nd scene: Imhotep offers you a choice serve him and receive treasure, or refuse and deal with 6 warrior mummies that pop up from the sides.
3rd scene: you get attacked by scarabs, then get launched backwards
4th scene: Imhotep taunts you, then you go up the launch hill
5th scene: rollercoaster-ghost warriors appear trying to "attack" you
6th scene: fake unload. Imhotep kills the person in the unload scene, then sets the roof on fire
7th scene: Imhotep tries again to get you, but the med-jai symbol appears and seals him in the underworld. Then you return to the present.

Ok, I'll tell you what happens almost exactly, so for the rest of you, if you don't want to get spoiled, DON'T READ BELOW

You basically start out on a car of 4 seats and 4 rows, then you go slowly through what looks like ancient ruins, you see a mummified body in front of you, then you hear someone say "Turn back, the curse, it's real!" then the mummy hops out and says "Silence" and I think he says something about your souls too. You then go around a turn slowly (no thrills yet) and you see the Mummy in Sand talking to you about riches, and you see the room light up with gold, then he says something about betraying him and then 3 warriors come up quickly from out of the ground on each side and flames shoot up all over the place (scary if you're not ready for it). Then your car moves quickly and a large door nearly comes down on top of you, as you barely escape being crushed, you quickly move around the corner....

and then stop, you see scarab beetles, TONS of them, but really they're just for show and you don't feel anything much except for maybe a couple spinkles of water up above. Then comes a scary part, as your car is THRUST backwords and down a hill, then it stops, the mummy talks to you as your car turns around, and then up a lift hill. About 3 seconds later, the Mummy says "Your souls are MINE!!" and you get launched up the hill at about 40mph, then down and through a quick coaster section, left and right curves, no loops or anything, then you get to an unload station, where you see an operator behind the glass and you hear "thank you for..." blah blah....

Next the operator behind the glass turns into a skeleton as their souls are sucked out and the mummy breaks the glass and screams "Death is only the BEGINNING!" and the ENTIRE ceiling bursts into flames (best effect I've ever seen) and you rocket forward and down into a pit of bright red mist (another awesome effect), then do a few more coaster moves, left and right turns and it's over.

It's a brief ride but very entertaining and is even loved by a lot of coaster wimps ;)

Thanks you for writing that. I have a question about the scarab part. Is it dark and you feel the water like it's supposed to be beetles on you(like a Honey I shrunk the audience kind of thing) or is it lit and you can see them and the water is unrelated to them. DD8 dosen't like Honey, Tough to be a bug kind of stuff. The rest of it sounds like stuff she would like. WE are coaster enthusiasts so the only thing that worries me is the beetles. Oh and the people that are in the queue, I heard that they try to like stare you down and scare you, but do you know if they do this to kids too?

Don't worry, the beetles are a visual effect with a few round objects dropping through a hole in front of you. The water must be tame cos I rode five times and do not recall feeling it at all.

Look for the Kongfrontation visual and the beginning of the ride on the wall.

I will definitely be looking for the Kong visual. I never got to ride Kong at US Orlando. The last time I rode it at US Hollywood I was like 4 y/o(I do still have a small but vivid memory of it. What will probably happen is after I show her this thread she'll want to ride it and then when we get there she won't. She still hasn't done Space Mountain(althought this time she swears she's doing it). Thanks for your help

There's only a few drops of water from the ceiling IF that. Ironically the last time I rode it (this past Sunday) I felt it, but never did before that. Maybe they just added it, or the roof was leaking ;)

Thanks everyone, I've almost convinced her to go on. Just waiting to see if anyone knows if they scare kids in the queue. Do they pop out at you, say anything, are they in costume?

All employees are in costume at all the rides. It's a theme park and besides the costumes they also "theme." It is uncommon to pop-up and scare kids. They did occasionally when the ride first opened but they have been told to tone it down a bit. They may stare at you, similar to what the CMs do on Tower of Terror, but no one will touch you and any scares will be psychological.

If she's that worried, I would suggest that she not ride Mummy.

There's only one time Ive seen an employee trying to look scary on the Mummy, and even then, it wasn't anything more than just a blank stare and saying "imhotep" over and over. That was probably the first time I went on it. I've been on it probably 7-8 times since then and never had employees do anything even remotely scary.
