ROTFL - Lauri looks like a statue!

She's sitting in bed watching TV after a long hard day at work. We were in the process of moving the first clutch of baby birds into their own cage because the second clutch will be ready to start coming out of the nesting box in maybe 10days - 2 weeks. We opened the doors to both the cage they were all in and the new cage to see if they would just go in by themselves.

Nope! They are all now sitting on Lauri. 5 Cockatiels. She looks like a Central Park Statue.

OMG. I've been there. Is one started nesting in her hair yet? my parakeet used to love to do that.

Kringle did that when she was really young. Lauri would take her out and sit lay back on the bed with her and put her down on her stomach to rub her head and try to bond with her. Kringle would keep running up into her hair and tuck herself in and fall asleep.

Yeah, I'm sure the first "poop" will land them a first class express ticket back into the cage. Right now Piper, the daddy bird, is mistaking the freckles on Lauri's arm as millet.

I love birds. We used to have the best grumpy old bird. He only liked my husband, and really only liked him when he had millet. Our son used to love to chase him, back when he was a crawler. It was really funny to watch.

If the feet start to get warm they are about to poop.

Sorry, Piper pooped on her shirt so now the crew has gone back under lockup.

Piper was full of himself tonight. He kept trying to grab Lauri's glasses off her face and run off with them.

Tweezer, the momma bird, didn't want to go back. We had to catch her and stick her back in the cage against her will. I think after 6 babies she was saying "HECK NO, I'M NOT GOING BACK IN THERE AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!!"

Speaking of poop........
When I was a child, we had a bird that whenever his cage was opened he immediatly flew into the bathroom and landed in the toilet. Every time!!!
