OK, this is my story - as hard as those who have actually seen me may find this to believe :) I spend MEGA hours in the gym - an average of 15 hours/week and I'm not just chattin it up! :thumbsup2

So, although I had no time for Rosie O'Donnel when she had her own show, was generally closeted, and was playing really, really nice, when I am stuck in my second or third hour of the gym by the time The View comes around and if I'm behind a TV I really, really enjoy watching her irreverant brand of humor. In particular, I really did adore her taking the Donald to the woodshed when he had the audacity to act as the arbitrator of morality with regard to Miss USA!

However, I just watched a scene between her and BABS (whom I have never warmed to) and I'm thinkin her days are really and truly numbered.

What are you all thinkin?

I'm still trying to figure out why celebrities come out of the closet only while involved in a relationship, never while single.

Can anyone name for me a celebrity who came out of the closet as a single person?

I do like Rosie's "tell it like it is" style, but perhaps that has overshadowed Ms. Walters a bit. One should also consider the audience demographic who, I believe, is geared more towards the "younger" View hosts.

From what I understand her contract was only for a year and I guess rumor is she may go on to her own show.
I personally would love seeing her in her own show, unlike Ellen I think she would really be enjoyable.

I am not saying that Ellen is not enjoyable but since she started her own talk show she seems less gay? somehow.

Yes!!! Big Yawn!

See, the thing with me is that I ADORE a good, earthy give and take.

Rosie can't very well do that with herself on her own show and when she has guests, hosts are suppossed to be NICE.

It's only with her fellow co-hosts, who all have equal power status, that she should be able to let it fly. Unfortunately, I don't think Ms. Walters "views" herself as one among equals.

I think that Tom Selleck would disagree with you on the fact that Rosie was supposed to be "nice"!

LOL!!! You Bet!

But there is the exception that proves the rule!

She took a lot of heat for that.

I know I'm old, but here's what I was taught: a great host brings out the best in their conversational partner.

Hmmmm ... not exactly what happend with good ole Tom.

And while we are on the Tom subject, any new news lately about his preference for males?

I haven't heard anything since that movie came out that he was in . . . can't even remember the name of it. Had Joan Cusack in it? And Tom Selleck was maybe a newscaster? Can't remember.

Also, I didn't think Doogie Howser was in a relationship, and he just came out.

Oooh, I loved that movie, it did have Joan Cusack in it and also had Kevin Kline - In and Out - I adore that movie!

I'm hopin' Baba keeps Rosie around as long as she wants to stay since she brings some real discussion to The View. Viki, you sure you're not like me and just a li'l skeered they might boot the woman who speaks her mind? ;) That kid Hasselbeck speaks hers and no one seems to worry about her, course those kinda folks are on their way out from a bigger place.:lmao:

A buddy of mine works at ABC in NYC -- and given the ratings jump at the "The View" since Rosie arrived.. he suggested the suits at ABC may be more inclined to show Barbara the door in June ... than Rosie!

That would be hilarious. Barbara getting the "Star Jones" exit from her own show! Ha.

And Doogie has a boyfriend... you see them together in West Hollywood all the time apparently.

midtown Manhattans! :cool1:

Ooooh, you all know me so well, and may I add that I just got the most handsome flask in the mail today - all inspired by the realization that the MK is dry and I'm gonna be spending YEARS there with my new niece :lmao:
But, really, the cutest thing is the teeny tiny funnel :rotfl:

Just remember ... if BaBa does take "retirement" in June -- you heard it here first. :)

All I want is the Donald to hush up. I mean really Rosie has talent ( you dont have to like her , ) she came up the ranks of comedy. Donald on the other hand is famous for being a " LandLord " , really at least talentless Paris Hilton looks pretty!

Rosie's the reason we tivo the View. I think the suits will keep her on and I don't think Bawbwa will leave the show. Although there are those moments when Bawbwa has that look on her face when Rosie says something potentially libelous, Barbara's got guests sitting in for her half the time (and I'm not sure sometimes she's really there even when she is there ("Oh Cha Cha, here's some really good kibble...now tell me what your mother's really like")). Besides, Rosie's connected with Elizabeth in several unexpected ways and tends to give Elizabeth more respect than Joy does. It almost seems like Bawbwa is the odd-woman-out here, but since she's busy with her other show (and interesting that she always promotes her shows on the View...I don't think she wants to give up the free ad time), she can always take a break if things go beyond what's she's comfortable with. As long as they keep the rotating guests coming in, I'm thinking Bawbwa will stay.
