Hi Rosie!! I am late here as I have been about everything in 2015.
Congratulations!! People who work with special needs persons are very special and rarely recognized.
Thank you for what you do!!

For sure Our dear governor does not recognize us , he is all about giving the fast food workers $15 an hour , not mention of Direct Support Staff

I have just been soo busy with work , I swear I meet myself coming and going and then more gets piled on. I literally come home and crawl into bed and fall asleep watching TV which I usually wake up and turn off in the middle of the night.We had a great Thanksgiving , Judy and her boyfiend were the chefs , I made applepie. That pie did not see the night out . We went Black Friday shopping at 4:30p ( I sooo wish they would have left it till Fridays or at least midnight , so you could enjoy the rest of the day) But we
got a lot of good buys , Kyle gets a laptop, Steph a 55" TV for her apartment .Lots of PJ'S pants gloves sox etc etc . Unfortunately Steph went into yet another of her "TRANCES" and ended up in the hospital the next day. She had CTscans, MRI, labs EKG, EEG , Echo cardio gram , the EEG showed some slight abnormality. So she has to follow up with a neurologist and a psychiatrist . She came home to day and is not TRANCE like but is extremely sleepy!! Please say some prayers for her as we are worried about her !!

That sounds so scary. Keeping my fingers crossed Steph's tests will work out.

Steph went into yet another of her "TRANCES" and ended up in the hospital the next day. She had CTscans, MRI, labs EKG, EEG , Echo cardio gram , the EEG showed some slight abnormality. So she has to follow up with a neurologist and a psychiatrist . She came home to day and is not TRANCE like but is extremely sleepy!! Please say some prayers for her as we are worried about her !!

Oh my - that does sound scary. I hope they figure out what this is and can manage it.

Well they upped her Lexapro and she has been great since , she sees a psychiatrist next week and we are very hopeful she will be given the okay to return to work , will keep you posted

Thanks she is doing well yesterday she spent the day making cookies with her Mom and today we went grocery shopping before I had to work. Of course I picked up a few items for her house ,knowing funds are stretched for her and Marquis . Today was the House Party at my second job. I didn't have to cook for the first time in a while . Sharlissa made the most awesome Lasagna , they had salad and fresh baked mini rolls and a bunch of homemade cookies . It was great, the Individuals all exchanged their Secret Santa Gifts , the families all enjoyed the day !! Now I have clean up, I am waiting on the dishwasher to shut off to unload and start the next which I have all rinsed and ready !!

I'm finally able to catch on my lovely friends' threads and boy does it feel GREAT! I hope you are very well and that work will somehow soon slow down for you. Don't wear yourself out before we meet up in October!

Thanks Pat She saw the neurologist on Thursday and he feels it is a Seizure disorder , he put her on medication and she has been cleared to work. She feels fine and is thrilled to be back to work, so hopefully between the increase in Lexapro for depression and the Lamictal for the possible seizures , which I personally don't think it is as her Zoning was WAY longer than the seizure disorder he was saying .

Well Ms Nurse they are saying it is either depression ( psychosis ) which she is completely recovered from. The neurologist thinks it is a form of seizure , but I am not sure as I have not found any seizure that last for days !!!???? While the symptoms of simple or complex partial seizure fits the time is minutes not days !!!!

Just bumping this up !! Once I get thru Christmas I hope I get a bit of a breather , I am planning on taking a LONG weekend each month in 2016 , although I will probably work longer days the other days and still not use much of my ever growing vacation time , between PTO HR and vacation I have close to 600 hours and most of that is vacation !!!!!Hopefully I will remember how to upload the pix and get going on my Rosie Roams 2015 before I have to start 2016!!!!

Thanks Liesa , it was a good day. I am working a short shift , which entailed 2 solid hours of driving to pick up drop u=off and pick up a couple of individuals. Driving at night is not my idea of FUN!!!!

I am going back reading this TR . I LOVED Spiderman, the Hogswart Express but chickened out on Diagon Alley . Next time will do it !! I have to find time when I am NOT exhausted to upload pix to my photobucket , first having uploaded them to my computer.

I loved the Train , Poor Carol is claustrophobic so the tight fitting train compartment was a little much for her but she was a Trooper !! Yes next trip I will brave Daigon Alley. My second ride on Forbidden Journey was awesome , only beaten by Soarin'

Thank you Christine I have been off the boards again , I just am so tired when I get home I just want to crawl into bed , I have to get uploading , I keep meaning to but that darn tiredness just stops me . I can't do it at work either so that doesn't help .
Just a little side note on what I have been doing at work, today I attended another meeting with 3 other agencies , we are planning on starting a Niagara County Regional Self Advocacy Monthly Meeting . It will be held at the brand new Gallisano Center at Memorial Medical Center . We are very excited about all the possibilities this will open up for our folks . The Center is a multi Million $$ project , which includes offices for one of the agencies I work for and a Self advocacy office. Our guys will be manning desks in 2 hour shifts at the center , which will also have a centralized medical facilitly for our guys in particular. The opening date is this April. Maybe check it out on line . It is amazing

And off agin to Albany and back and I brought back an AWARD !!!! >>>>>>... I was voted Direct Support Person of the Year by NYS Self Advocacy Association. Needless top say I was thrilled . My CEO is pretty happy about it too!!!

Well I am glad I inspired you!! Michael is NOT Marv's son he is an individual who Marv just took too and Michael to Marv !!

Michael and I hit it off really well on one of Rosie's previous trips! He is a super guy, and we came away from that trip as "Best Friends!" I have a picture of Michael and I during a very special Character Meet with Woody at DHS.
