My boyfriend and I just made reservations to stay at this hotel the last week of December. It's obviously a convention hotel, and we got a super-good rate there, probably because of the lack of conventions during that time of year. Can anyone tell me about the rooms, pool, restaurants, location, etc.? Any help would be appreciated!

My DH went to a conference there a year ago. We stayed at All Star Movies and made him drive there each day for the conference while the kids and I hit the parks. He says it is a very NICE hotel, clean, good location and has a nice looking pool. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Hi...Rosen is a huge high rise you can see for miles. As you approach north end of International Drive it is the very large "V" shaped building west of I-4 that is reddish and is very tall. It is very definately a big convention hotel....huge lobby with lots of fluff and small but nice hotel rooms with just the basics. I do not remember a frig or even a coffee maker in the room, but I may be wrong...It has a couple of very fancy restaurants and a big bar in the lobby with lots of convention types hanging around....pool looked very nice but a long trip from the rooms....what I remember most is the parking which is way out back and a very long walk to the elevators.....but we liked it...would probably not do it again unless the price was really a deal....good luck and enjoy..........Ted

We got this hotel through Priceline for a very good price. We booked just our first night before transfering to a Disney hotel. It is a very large hotel and quite impressive to walk into. The room was fairly standard though pleasently decorated, comfortabal and quiet. The pool area was pretty, fairly large but not imaginative like the Disney pools. We ate at Reds Deli and found it to be very good. We used valet parking which took a bit of time but I heard that self parking is quite a ways away. Make sure you allow enough travel time to the parks. We all like it very much.

Thank you everyone for the info! I wanted a room with a view, and it needed to be cheap. I'm in graduate school, and my boyfriend is in college, so we're being good and cheap for 4 nights, then staying at the Hard Rock Hotel for New Year's Eve, and then the night of the 1st before we have to come back to the real world. I found the Rosen for $51.75/night on Expedia, and it sounded like what we needed, at a good price. I'd love to stay on-site at Disney (we'll go there for 1 day), or more on-site at Universal, but we're on a budget and I think we're blowing most of it on the HRH. We'll pretty much just be at the Rosen to sleep, and maybe swim in the pool some! The one big negative thing I read somewhere was that someone had some things stolen while staying there...I'll just keep $$, cell phone, etc. locked away hidden in the car. Thank you again everyone!

Make sure you request a higher room. While our rooms were fine we had two rooms with not good views. Out our window, and level with us was a huge flat tar paper/gravel roof full of HVAC equipment. acroos from the roof was the back of another building. It was not a problem for us as we arrived at 9:00 P.M. and left at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. I am assuming we got these rooms because we only paid $39 per night.

When I made the reservation, I did request a high-up room. Thanks for the info!
