Rose & Crown: Switch for Better DDP Value?

It is a tradition for my family to eat at R&C to watch Illuminations, and DH and I made a point to start this with our DD last year, as well.

For this year's trip, we again have a 7:30 PM R&C reservation on our Epcot day.

However, this is the first time we've been on DDP in forever and likely one of the last times. I am thinking of switching that R&C dinner reservation to a World Showcase restaurant that's a better value on the DDP. I know, for example, that Akershus, Tutto Italia, Via Napoli, Chefs de France, and Biergarten are better values on DDP.

What do you all think - keep the Rose & Crown Illuminations tradition or branch out for a better DDP value? (Type of a cuisine is not an issue - DD3 will try almost anything.)

I would branch out! You may enjoy the show from a different location as well.

And this is one of my biggest problems with the DDP..changing tradition to make it a good value?? Sorry, that's a rant for another post.

I wouldn't change it. Tradition is big to me. Either plan to order one of the more expensive entrees (steak and fish is $33) and/or pair it with an expensive QS (Tangerienne Cafe) for the day to make it a better value.

By the way, Via Napoli is NOT a good value on the DDP as you cannot share and if you want pizza, you only get the individual which is a horrible value.
