I made reservations for Rose & Crown. Been eating at Le Cellier for years. Decided to try something different. Always wanted to try Rose & Crown. Did I make the right decision or should I be nervous? I realize they are 2 completely different types of restaurants. But, last visit to LeCellier we noticed the quality had definitely gone down. Ended up having a much better steak at Olivia's!!

Thanks for any advce.

Rose and Crown was good. It's not exciting but it's good and the staff are very friendly and chatty (you might have to gnaw your arm off to get away..lol but we don't mind being chatty).
the menu has completely changed very recently so it might be a bit more exciting.
They took off some of the classics which is odd but time will tell how it goes.
Try something new! Why not??
oh and we love olivias also!

Three words: Sticky Toffee Pudding.

You will not regret it. :thumbsup2

Thanks, I feel much better now!! I enjoy a chatty staff. Other than the great food, one of my favorite things about Olivia's is the wonderful, chatty staff. I come to Disney to meet nice people.

Haven't been to LeCellier in about a year and a half. I've just made lunch reservations there for our next trip. I'd love to hear more reviews about LeCellier positive or negative. We're not going to have many TS meals and I'd hate to have this one be less than stellar.

Rose and Crown is my FAVORITE Disney restaurant, and maybe my favorite anywhere! I LOVE it there. Everything I've had has been delicious - I LOVE their cottage pie, and the sticky toffee pudding ....... ohhhhh, wonderful! There are no words to describe how delicious that stuff is! Add to it, it is definitely the friendliest and nicest wait staff I've ever enjoyed. Everyone there is super nice. Plus, the fact that you can get cider there ... real honest to goodness English cider ... well, that just seals the deal!

I love Rose and Crown and can't imagine not going there. I have been there for lunch the last 2 years. It's more of a "Pub" setting than an "elegant dining" one but that didn't bother me at all.

Some of the foods I loved there include their yorkshire pudding appetizer, their cheese spread app., and the Sunday Roast entre was MASSIVE and so incredibly rich and tasty. I also enjoyed the cocktails I had there and I'll echo the love for the sticky toffee pudding!

My waiter last year was a lovely lad, and yes, very friendly and sweet and talkative! But I loved talking to him and it by no means made the meal last too long. In fact, I'd say that they are pretty on the ball there with service and wanting to please the customer. They even accommodated my request to not serve all my appetizers all at once (I can really eat! popcorn::) without even blinking an eye.

Perhaps this would be for another thread, but really quick, I just have to recommend the house burger at Le Cellier! People love their steaks, and I felt slightly foolish lowering myself to ordering a burger at a steakhouse, but I assure you this is no ordinary burger. A cow sent from heaven was sacrificed to bring you this out-of-this-world explosion of juicy flavor... and the toppings were obviously hand-picked and paired together by none other than angels... :cloud9:

But this thread is about Rose and Crown... so let's come back to earth and regain our focus...

I guess I have to find out what cottage pie is. :rotfl: It sounds delicious, though.

All of our meals there have been very pleasant and good. We probably wouldn't have given it a second thought if we hadn't had such a great steak at Olivia's. Someday I REALLY want to try the salmon. I love salmon too but I get in a steak mood every time I walk through the doors to LeCellier. We will be back. We have been trying to seek out some new restaurants every trip to go along with the old favcorites. And we decided to try a new World Showcase restaurant this time. So, LeCellier got the bump. lol. I am sure you will have great time at LeCellier. Their servers are really friendly, too.

I saw the Sunday Roast in the menu on AllEars. It looked interesting. Something I would definitely try. I love a friendly, chatty staff. It is so nice to meat people from other countries while in Disney.

Thanks for the info. Now I am really looking forward to the dinner there. Will I wank out with a British accent? :lmao:

We LOVE R&C!!! I like their menu selection, and we have always had good appetizers and entrees there..I always get the same dessert, which is The Sticky Toffee Pudding, which is soooo good! I also enjoy the atmosphere and service there. I especially love a nice Boddington's on draft! :cloud9:

The menu recently changed and the Sunday roast is gone sadly. I loved it. We went last week and I had the cottage pie which I had many years ago and it changed. It is a very small serving and mine was very sweet. I think it was the carrots that were overly sweet carrots and changed the taste. I asked about the seasoning and was told it is only ground beef, onions, carrots and salt and pepper cover covered in mashed potatoes.

The food wasn't the best but I would go back again in a second. The CM's are all outstanding and made our night. I love R&C. You will have a great time.

Now you have piqued my curiosity. So, is a scotch egg food or drink? :rotfl:

I've had that as part of an appetite sampler they have. It's quite good. It's basically their version of a hard boiled egg, but quite tasty.

Am sad to hear the Sunday Roast is gone. Though each time I go, I do like to get a different entre. Last year I had a sausage dish, which was good but not as great as the Roast. I may finally get the fish and chips this year - it seems like everyone who goes there gets that, so it must be good.

Thanks so much!! It sounds like it is going to be a fun night. I was looking forward to trying the Sunday Roast. It is still listed on the menu on allears. Hopefully they will bring it back.
