The new dinner menu at Rose & Crown looks pretty stark... they removed a lot of items, including the lamb soup, which was awesome

is it still on the lunch menu does anyone know, or is the lunch menu changed also??

Sorry, I don't have an answer about lunch. But I just looked at the new dinner menu this morning and was floored. Where did everything go?! I'll be canceling my ADR.

Hi,

Did they change the mushroom recipe? The mushroom appetizer was the single most delicious thing I've ever had a WDW, and I'm praying that it's stillt he same - big bowl of cream and mushrooms, with puff pastry as an afterthought . . .

I've never eaten there so I don't know. What kinds of things did they use to serve? I just took a look at the current menu to see what the hubub was all about it looks pretty good to me...

I know the prime rib and salmon are goners.

I'm almost positive that the lamb soup is gone from the lunch menu also.

What are they serving... fish and chips? I hope this is not what is to come with 2008 Epcot restaurants.

KC pirate:

Unfortunately, the mushroom appetizer is now a HUGE puff pastry and some cream and mushrooms.
We're planning on telling them to keep the pastry and fill the bowl with mushrooms and cream.

I asked about the lamb barley soup, and was told that they were having 'quality' issues with their supplier. The last time I had it, they provided the recipe. You'd think they could get it right in the kitchen. Maybe I should make a copy of the recipe and give it back to them??

does anyone have a copy or know where to find the new menu?

Is the Stewed Mushroom Appetizer the one that everyone is talking about with the puffed pastry

I'm not sure. I've never tried it. I'd assume that if there was a puff pasty on it that they would list it on the menu, so I'm guessing no.

The menu above is dated Aug 2007

I would guess, based on the menu changes, that they were talking about the quality of lamb they were getting from their supplier. All the lamb dishes are gone as of the last menu update, and this set of changes came closer than usual on the heels of the last menu change there. That makes me think this menu was created to do away with the lamb options ASAP.

Not to debate your post, and please, I mean nothing personal, but seeing that they've been wrong so many times with their menu postings, I was always under the impression that much of AllEars dining info should be taken with a grain of salt, no pun intended.

I doubt there is a site out there that has all the menus correct all the time. Some get updated more often then others that's for sure.

Agreed. It's just that lately, on a number of occasions, AllEars has reported discontinued menu items that haven't been discontinued, or they've posted incomplete menus from park guests.

I notice that one of the menus listed a vegetable pot pie that looked interesting to me, but it's not on the other menu. Does anyone know if that might be a vegetarian offering and available only upon request? Or I wonder if it's discontinued. I hope not!
