Just wondering on how to get OUTSIDE seating at Rose & Crown for the IlumiNation show. Going this August and ate at R&C before. Thanks

Just read Hurricane Gals review and she did this. Said she booked for 7:30pm and it worked out perfect. ASk her what you should do!!

I just returned and had a 7:30 PS for R&C and was seated inside. SO disappointed! However, I asked the server if they still allowed people to go out on the deck to view Illuminations and she said they had a VIP standing area that I could be admitted to. So, after dinner, she escorted me to a relatively small roped off area on the left side of the patio (facing the water). When I got there at 8:55, there were maybe 10 people there, by 9:00, there must have been between 30 and 40. A little tight, but not uncomfortably so, and excellent viewing. So even if you don't get outside seats, all is not lost!

I am not sure how they are recently, but over the last couple years, the R&C staff have been getting better and better at resisting the pleas of people who ask for outside patio tables. It used to be that if you checked in REALLY early, like at 4:00pm and "checked" on your PS, and nicely asked if you could sit outside, then very nicely asked again when you checked in at 7:00 for your 7:30 PS, and you were willing to wait, you would get one.

Now (well last year), they are sure to tell you that they can not guarantee that you can get an outside seat and ever go so far as to say that they will seat you in the first available table, no matter where it is.

In my opinion, the R&C is a place you should eat if you want to eat there, not for the entertainment. having saidf that, some of the best views of Illuminations I have seen have been from there.

Another great place, with a bit less hassle is the Cantina in mexico. get there EARLY, like at 7:30 for a 9:00 show and stake out a table. get something to eat or drink and guard that table. There are some great views from there too.
