I made my PS for Rose & Crown today (7:30pm) with the hope of getting a window seat for the evening show. The CM read her script to me which inlcuded "requests for window or outside seats cannot be guaranteed for this location". So, my question is, how can I get a good seat for dinner/evening show and Rose and Crown? Do I just request when I check in that evening?

I did it last week. Our PS was at 7:20, we got there about 7:10 and I requested an outside table (they have seating on the terrace outside). They gave me the spiel that they can't guarantee it. We were not seated until 8:00 but we got a perfect table in the middle of the lower level outside.

So, if I make the request, they will try to fill it, as long as I am willing to wait? They do serve beer there, right ;)

My husband and I had a priority seating back in April 2003 for the Rose and Crown around the same time as you. We arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, checked in and then proceeded to watch as they sat people who arrived after us for close to an hour. I was fuming, but tried to make the best of it, as we were on our honeymoon. The staff at the podium were very rude, but finally did get us seated, an hour after we arrived and about 15 minutes before the fireworks started. Once the show started, we were told we would have to leave our table (which was inside) if we wanted to see the show. So basically we were left with the choice of eating hot food or enjoying the fireworks. (We ate cold food :sad2: ).
On a happy note, they do serve beer and lots of it. My husband got this huge glass there, must be close to a foot and half tall, that can be refilled every time you go there. So, he is going to take it back this October and get a refill.
In all honesty, I think we will try Rose and Crown again. I am hoping they were just having an off night. I hope you get the seating you want, BUT ARRIVE EARLY!! My understanding is that some people come at 6:00 or 6:15 and then just eat very slowly, so that they can keep their seats right out in front.

We made a PS for Rose and Crown on May 12th for 7:40. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:15 and were seated around 8:00. We did not get a table outside but we were seated inside. Our waitress was very nice and at 8:50 led us to a roped off Rose and Crown viewing area. We were the first to get to that area and had a front row view of Illuminations. We enjoyed our evening, but in the future we will skip Rose and Crown. IMHO it was a bit pricey for the amount of food that we got. There are lots of great tables just to the left of Rose and Crown and we will just arrive early, get a table and get takeout fish and chips from the Counter Service place at the right of Rose and Crown that serves the same fish and chips.
