We will be going to Rose & Crown as a group of 8. So I expect that trying to get a patio table will be even more of a gamble than usual. However, for 9:00 Illuminations, do you think we would be better with a 7:00 or 7:50 reservation? I originally felt that taking a 7:00 was rude, because we'd be holding onto a table so long. But now I think 7:50 is too late. Its not an easy ADR to get, but do I keep trying for something in between? Thank you!

If I can piggyback here... I'm curious about 7:15. It'll be just me. If I got there and asked and said I was willing to wait, would that be a good time?

Yes I've done 7:15. Worked out perfectly with a leisurely meal.

unless something has changed, Rose & Brown's policy is to seat you at the next available table for your party size. If you decline in hopes of a ratio table, you will be politely denied, and possibly asked to leave.

OP, 7:30 would be better, but completely not guaranteed.

Interesting. I've read multiple people say that they asked for a patio seat and were allowed to wait. Sounds like it's up to whoever is working the check-in area.

You guys, you can also try Spice Road Table. We did a walk up around 8 and we were seated right along the water. It was an amazing experience!

From what I've read, not super gluten-free friendly.

I don’t know anything about their official policy but if you request a table for fireworks viewing at check in they will do their best to accommodate.

For OP , 7pm may be a bit early but not really rude if you’re planning to have a full meal. It would take at least an hour and I don’t think they seat new tables after 8 .

I disagree that sitting at 7 wanting to view 9:30 Illuminations is not rude. IMHO it IS unfair to the server. Dinner at Rose & Crown will never take 21/2 hours. Never

As a party of 8?

Well Hopefully, what do you think? I'm betting you know...

Sorry OP, apparently I needed to point out that you can make ADR's when you dine at Disney World.
I was only letting you and others who no doubt are reading this thread know that it's a great alternative for watching Illuminations, as we were pleasantly surprised when we walked up around 8 and sat there.

Well Farro, how rude. I don’t know what your comment has to do with making ADRs.

Sorry, but your posts often come across as sarcastic, bordering on mean spirited. Perhaps I am reading them wrong, if so I sincerely apologize.

The earlier you go the safer you will be. If you happen to get seated right away it shouldn’t be hard to stretch it out until 9. Last time I went in August there were a bunch of patio tables open still even during the fireworks so I wouldn’t worry about being rude because the tables probably won’t fill anyway. Just make sure you tip appropriately if that’s what you’re worried about.

Out of all the food service I had my last trip, R&C was the best because we told our server right off the bat we were there for fireworks and he took upon himself to make the night special. CMs love doing that!

Work with the staff and they will work with you, and it’s always better to be early and stretch it out. Our reservation was 7:15 my last visit and it ended up being incredible. You pay just as much for your trip as everyone else on that patio.

You won’t be asked to leave, that’s completely false. We had a back patio table and asked our server for a better one and he was happy to accommodate.

If on the off chance the first person you talk to is rude about it, ask for someone else. You’re their guest, you’re paying them.
