So do all these Utah and Ohio St folks who come out and traditionally go to Disneyland, just get locked out with the new system. Does not seem fair

It does suck. I went to Disneyland for NYE before the Rose Bowl twice and I've been to WDW for the Capitol One Bowl and Outback Bowl. I would be very disappointed if I were to go to California for the Rose Bowl and couldn't visit DL.So do all these Utah and Ohio St folks who come out and traditionally go to Disneyland, just get locked out with the new system. But... why? Disney isn't the person "in charge" of the Rose Parade....It does suck. Why would I be disappointed? Because I would want to go to DL and it would suck if I couldn't. Wouldn't you be disappointed?But... why? Disney isn't the person "in charge" of the Rose Parade....
Since the teams wouldn't know what "Bowl" they would be playing until just a week or so ago. Like I said, Disney provides packages for the parades, football teams, families, etc.... I am sure they have pre-reserved packages set up for a few of the dates between 26-30th the teams and families can purchase. If the people attending the Rose Bowl couldn't make their plans far enough in advance then they lose out, even if it's through no fault of their own. If you've been following Disney forums you'll have seen that there are a LOT of people who haven't been able to get park reservations because they can't book far in advance. It's the 'new normal'.
Can they be disappointed, sure. But it is what it is.
Valentines Day ties in with the Super Bowl too....Tagging on to this question with one about the Super Bowl. We have reservations for a trip with friends on the weekend of 2/11-2/14. Being totally football clueless, it didn't even occur to me that the Super Bowl was that weekend and that it would be held in LA until it was mentioned on another DL crowd predictor site, where they were predicting increased crowds on both 2/13 and 2/14. Given the new reservation system, it doesn't seem like it could be any worse than right now, when all of the reservations are taken. Does that seem right?

Generally, it is put on the teams site and with their travel agencies. Fans can book with the travel agencies too, but it means booking packages, and not just tickets to Disneyland. Generally includes hotels, transportation, game tickets, and tickets to various theme parks/activities.Are those packages available to the 'general public'? I thought those packages were 'reserved' for participant's families, team members, VIPs, etc. I assumed OP was talking about just 'team fans' who would want to travel to see the game.
I hope they do, it was always a big part of the trip.Disney sells packages to the teams for Dec 26-28. My thinking is they will have packages with pre-reserved reservations during those dates.
