Has anyone had any bad experiences viewing illuminations?? Any feedback would be great. TIA :flower:

Is one of the best places to view Illuminations. That said the tables that are best for viewing most of the time are hard to get.I think when you may ask for a good table for viewing Illuminations when you make PS.It is touch and go if you get it.I have seen other posts where folks who don't get the tables are sometime invited to stand behind these people seated at the good viewing tables and have said the view was great.Good Luck :goodvibes :goodvibes

Rose and crown is great..we had the fish n chips. it is one of the best views for illuminations indoors (cantina san angel is also great..but more of a quick outdoors spot) but like danny said it is hard to get a table,,depending on season. my advice request a window seat on PS and then go 30-45 min early to assure u have a seat!

You could always try some great beer at the bar..I like the woodpecker cider BF likes the Bass and boddingtons!

We had a very disappointing experience there as far as viewing Illuminations in early January. We waited almost 45 minutes past our PS time for our table, then found out our beeper didn't work! They were so apologetic, and I figured for sure we could get a patio table for our trouble, but we were still inside. We even had a manager come to our table to apologize. Sure wish they'd been sorry enough to give us a patio table! Then when Illuminations was about to start, we found out that we could no longer step outside onto the patio (some rule change, our server said), but she took us to an outside area where we stood, with one foot up on a curb to see over the people in front of us-it was an area about 5 people deep. We've had much better views just standing in the Japan area. However, the food was excellent-I just wouldn't plan on seeing Illuminations from there again.

Out of our last six trips we got on the porch area once, DH stopped by the desk on the way in to Epcot in the morning. The CM said let's see if we can make some Disney magic and she came through. It was a highlight of that trip, but it definitely doesn't make or break my trip. A few weeks ago we ate on the upper porch way before the fireworks and I enjoyed that too. The only time I wasn't happy was when they tried to sit just me and DH next to the kitchen doors, we ended up leaving. Otherwise we always enjoy a R&C meal on every trip. The servers are some of the friendliest in Epcot.

We had requested an outdoor table for a party of 5 adults and waited almost a hour past our PS time. I think once people get an outdoor table with a good view they are less likely to leave any time close to Illuminations. We did get an outdoor table but with no view at all. To make matters worse the wind was blowing the smoke, etc from Illuminations directly at the Rose and Crown. If we really want the outdoor table I would make a PS for well before Illuminations, maybe an hour and a half so that you have a better shot at getting what you want.
