Since my search doesn't work these days...:headache: ...and I have already spent my entire day here at the DIS, I thought I would make it easier on myself and ask about R&C. Would love to hear opinions, good or bad. Have never dined there, and was thinking of trying it this time around. Thanks for any help!

We like going in the bar, having a drink, but food wise it is nothing special.

If you are looking for a good meal, fish/chips, etc. Try Raglan Road in Downtown Disney.

Thanks for your input. I am trying to try some different places. I haven't been to RR either, good idea!

We booked R&C as our Candlelight Processional pre-dinner. It's becoming a tradition with my husband and me as a not-to-be missed restaurant... Don't know if it's cause he's half Irish or what. The pork loin in mustard sauce and the fish and chips are fantabulous.

Rose & Crown is a MUST DO for all our trips. We love it. We have been fortunate enough to view Illuminations twice from the patio seating.

We have been many, many times & love it!

Our ultimate R&C experience was last Nov for the fireworks. Great server (efficient, friendly & menu savvy), decent food (Guinness stew, shepards pie, bangers & mash, fish & chips; cheese & fruit plate; toffee pudds) & 1st row on the patio--could get no better!

Liking the pub, too. Carl the barman is super! Not only do they offer beer flights but also Scotch flights.

DF and I went to R&C for the 1st time last year and absolutely loved it! :thumbsup2 I was a bit apprehensive as I'm a bit of a picky eater but I didn't have anything to worry about and this ended up being one of my favorite meals during the whole trip! The service was excellent-our server was so nice--he even sat down with us for a bit, told us about living in the UK and made really good food suggestions. We also got to sit outside on the patio area which was really nice at night. We were too early for Illuminations but still, I thought it was wonderful!

Cool! Do you remember what time your adr's were for??

I love my beer, but I have no idea what a beer flight is
Now you have me curious!

This Dec. is our first time eating at R&C so..
I am wondering too about what time your ADR was for, and also how easy/hard is it to get patio seating:confused3 . We'll be celebrating my brother's birthday and we really wanna see IllumiNations from the patio(the reason we booked it)which starts at 9 and our ressie is at 8pm. TIA for any info you have.:)

We liked it. We live in Boston and there are lots of Irish pubs and R&C is similar. I think you can get a very decent meal there and eating on the patio is lovely. We got a seat there out of luck..didn't even ask for it.

We also liked Raglan Road which we tried last trip

Is the Guinness Stew gone from their menu? I looked twice on another site and here. No stew means we will try to Raglan Road because they have one. We loved the one at Rose and Crown.

Our ressies are for 7:20 this time. 7:30 is the recommended time for Illuminations viewing. If we get patio seation we will likely order a appetizer and stretch our dinner out a bit.

In the past, once it was at eight and once at seven-thirty. I think for the eight we checked in early.

DH had one of the beer flights on one trip. It was either five 6 oz glasses or six 5 oz glasses, I can't recall which. We are not big drinkers and after finishing his flight he was listing slightly to the right and his "Irish" accent sounded suspiciously like a pirate! pirate: :lmao:

The Rose and Crown has long been one of our favorite places to just relax and soak up the atmosphere of Epcot World Showcase. Very casual and comfortable, and the food is simple pub fare, but quite good. One of my favorite things to do is to grab a cold Bass ale, stand outside and watch the world pass by. We have a week planned in December, and will no doubt be spending some "quality" time there.

Raglan Road is also a great place - I love the live celtic music - you'll have a great evening at either place.
