We are going with my parents and to try to keep everyone happy I have choose the Rose and Crown. I would have love Beirgarten or some thing a lil more up beat.:woohoo: So have you been, hows the food and atmosphere?:confused3

Fish and chips are great.

Rose & Crown is our favorite Epcot restaurant - best fish & chips. We're going for 7 days in April and will go there once for lunch and once for dinner. Good choice. While the German place is fun, the food is ordinary and you can get much better in a German restaurant at home. At least we can in NJ.
Just my opinion - you'll get lots of different ones.

Well, we haven't eaten at the Rose and Crown for a while. But that's only because we've been there so much we're trying different options. I love the Rose and Crown and have many fond memories of eating there on special occassions. My husband now will not order fish and chips anywhere else (including Disney property) because he says it will pale in comparison to the Rose and Crown.

We've never had a bad meal here. Even my picky, picky son.

It's actually very nice inside. The waiter we had in May (Mark) was phenomenal and very friendly. We had the cheese and fruit platter to start (YUM) and then the chicken pasties for dinner. Everything was very good, and we were not rushed.

I hope you enjoy your meal.

We went to Rose and Crown for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The potato and leek soup was the best we have ever had. It was very filling and I highly recommend it. My mom and I had the chicken patsy. It was very good. The mashed potato and green beans were very good as was the cream sause on the pastry. We would have liked a little more chicken though. The tables were a little too close to each other but other than that the place was wonderful. I would absolutley eat here again. It was very yummy.

Rose and Crown is one of our favorite restaurants. I usually order the Bangers and Mash. It is really good.

But what makes the Rose and Crown special is the CMs that work there. We've visited R&C on every trip and never have had a bad experience with a CM. They are friendly and outgoing.

The service was second to NONE! I had the best time dining solo there, with lots of attention from my server (thanks, Lee!), as well as any others that happened by.
I had the stewed mushrooms, recommended by Lee, which were to die for (in a cream sauce, baked in pastry), then the grilled steak with black&tan demi glace (med. rare, nice and tender, cut it with a butter knife), mashed, and peas. Simple food prepared very well. Discovered I don't like Yorkshire pudding that much (kind of like a popover, but moister). Had a Bailey's coffee for dessert.
Nice atmosphere, warm and friendly, with pub music wafting throughout the dining area.

We ate there a few years ago and really liked it. I had the fish and chips, can't remember what anyone else ate, but we liked everything. We want to try new places this time so we're not eating there, but I'm SURE we'll stop in for a pint or two (or three).:drinking1

We ate a R & C following the tree lighting in early December. The weather was fabulous - went for dinner seating outside - comfortably in shorts and T-shirts. So that alone was wonderful. The pints of Woodchuck Hard Cider were ice cold and refreshing. We were on the dining plan (DH, DD (7) and I)- hubbie (who hates mushrooms) declared his Mushrooms in cream sauce appetizer as phenomenal and my mixed salad was great (crisp greens, light with the dressing but packed with flavor). We were splitting our food with our daughter who was not feeling up to a heavy dinner. My husband had the prime rib for his entree - he said it was terrific. I had the steak and fish - but instead of the mashed potatoes I ordered chips (fries). So essentially I had a steak AND fish and chips (which my daughter polished off pretty quickly). I do not remember what my husband had for dessert, but I ordered the Sticky English Toffee Pudding with buttered rum sauce. HOLY MOLY!!! It was heavenly. At least the 4 scoops I had - my daughter inhaled it in record time!
It was better than any of the food I had in London when I studied abroad. A definite thumbs up. And, as previous posters have mentioned, the service was wonderful.

we look eating at various resturants at WDW as another attraction. we as a famliy just love the Rose and Crown. my wonderful DW is quite a finicky eater. so i usally do some serious research as to where we are going to eat. so on our upcoming trip i asked her where she wanted to eat and she quickly said that she wanted to eat at R&C at leasy twice beause every time we have been there everything tthat we experienced there was nothing short of great

I agree. We continue to return to Rose and Crown for the excellent service and good food. My favorites are the fish and chips (lunch) and prime rib (dinner). And, of course, the black and tan on draft!

My family loves R & C! We have been twice, and have ADRs for later this month. I love the fish 'n chips; the pices of fish are very large and the batter is very light. I am not a huge pea fan, but the fish 'n chips comes with peas. For some reason, I love this combination and eat all my peas when at R & C!

Rose & Crown is probably the only restaraunt that I have a tendency to return to time after time. I've been really lucky thus far in being able to get an outside table for Illuminations (four out of four times). I was at MGM solo Dec 11th, couldn't find anyplace I wanted to eat lunch, so took the boat over to the International Gateway at Epcot and was able to get into the Rose & Crown with only like a five minute wait (this was about 1:00pm). We've always had the nicest CMs there and the best service. So far we've not found anything we didn't like. Personally I love their lamb/barley soup, mushroom appetizer, and cheese/fruitplate. I've had steak there twice and both times it was better than my steak at Le Cellier or Coral Reef. My ex loves their Bailey cream dessert. My mom loves their Banger & Mash. They also have a really good salad at lunch.

Rose & Crown is DH's favorite Epcot restaurant, and my 2nd favorite (I love Chefs de France for the beautiful interior!). The food is good and the atmosphere very festive. There is a full bar, in case you're interested.

We've eaten there about 5-6 times, always outside except for once when it was too cold. FYI, they do not guarantee where you will sit (indoors or outdoors) but will fulfill your request if they're able.

Rose and Crown is DH and my favorite Epcot restaurant. We eat there every time we visit The Mouse. We love the Fruit and Cheese tray appetizer, fish and chips, bangers and mash, and any version of steak. After reading all the posts, it looks like I might have to try the mushroom appetizer on our upcoming trip.

Mmmmmmm....the prawns! We never miss R&C....the atmosphere is lovely, the service great and the view can't be beat.

love Love LOVE the Rose and Crown! [especially if you can get a later dinner and watch IllumiNations while you eat!!!!] We had excellent service from either Ty or Francis (one was his real name, but he was wearing someone else's nametag. :confused3 We called him TyFrancis.:upsidedow ).

We definitely didn't go wrong-try to get a later dinner. The potato and leek soup is EXCELLENT! Also get the dessert sampler if they still have it-omigosh. It was terrific.
