Rose and Crown Pub recommendations

We have lunch planned here. We're on the DxDDP. Would you recommend/discourage any certain items here?

I'm leaning toward the cheese and sausage appetizer. Although the Potato Leek soup sounds good too. Either the Bangers and Mash or the Pub Burger (I'm not a fish fan.) And the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Is the Sticky Toffee Pudding so good that DH and I should both order it or should I just have a bite or two of DH's and order the Bailey's Irish Coffee Trifle for myself? (He's not a coffee fan, but I'm a big Bailey's fan and like coffee.)

I think DH will go for the Corned Beef Sandwich or the Vegetarian Shepard's Pie.

What do you recommend?

If you like cheese I recommend the cheese plate it says 'for 2' but when we went in January they let me get that as my app and DH got the soup as his. The cheese plate was a very good size and had a lot of yummy combinations of things to try with the different cheeses. The soup was also very good, although I did like the one at Biergarten better, although that could have been because Biergarten had the delicious pretzel rolls to dip in the soup. DH liked the pub burger and the english chips were very good they were hot and crisp, although smaller than the ones I had in England. I cannot recommend any of the desserts because frankly after 5 days of deluxe dining DH and I were too full to even contimplate it especially since we had a dinner reservation lined up for later that night.

I'm the fish person in my house and always get the fish. However, DH has had the Bangers & Mash, the Shepherd's Pie and the Pub Burger and he has enjoyed all of them (his favorite was probably the Shepherd's Pie).

I'm the brave one, I always like to try whatever dish a country is famous for. I think when we go, I'll try the Bangers & Mash. I too was curious about these dishes. Great thread!

I thought the leek soup was good - that won't be a bad choice.

And the toffee pudding cake was good too. DW got something different (choc cake?) so we had a couple things to sample.

Rose and Crown is great! We went for lunch in December and everything was wonderful! For an appetizer, I ordered the cheese and meat plate, very good. For the main course I got the chicken and mushroom pie, once again, very very good. For dessert the toffee pudding is outstanding. This was one of the best meals I have ever had in WDW. Great choice!

I get the Bangers and Mash but it's like comfort food to me.

I know that you said that you do not like fish and neither do I. The only exception is the Fish N Chips in England. The Rose and Crown's Fish N Chips are authentic and actually very good. You might be surprised!
