Rose and Crown Illuminations view opinions

Hello,
Im making an ADR for Rose and Crown.

I just need to double check what time i should make the ADR in order to catch Illuminations and where should I say I want to sit (patio, terrace)?

Also if anyone has any opinions on R&C, please let me know as it is going to be my first time eating there.

They no longer let you request a patio seat (at least they didn't when I was there) as that is what everyone wants. However, they do have a viewing patio where all guests are welcome to stand and view Illuminations. Our server was outstanding. We had eaten the main course and she told us where to go and watch (but we put in our dessert order first). When we got back dessert was waiting and we ate that as the park was clearing out.

We usually aim for a 7:45 PM ADR for Illuminations.
We have eaten on the Patio 3 times, and in the dining room many more.
You can not request patio seating any longer. You used to be able to wait for a patio table if you requested it when you check in, but they have stopped that. You now need to take the first available table that opens for your party size.
However, as PP stated, there is a private patio you can stand in to watch Illumminations, if you are seated inside.
