Rope Drop with only 1 FP+ can you go straight to 4th FP+

Yes, last I saw reported elsewhere, it can (and has) been done. You need to make 3, use 1 and cancel 2. You cannot cancel single FP+s on the app or kiosk, it has to be from a PC or on a phone web browser on the full site. Once you cancel the last 2, you are able to make your 4th+.

So, you make 3 from PC and wait for trip, go and ride 1 then cancel the other 2 (from A PC while in the park???) then make the 4th at the kiosk? OR...do you make 3 on a PC...then right away cancel 2 and wait for your trip, go and ride the one and make 4th right after at kiosk? Just wanting to be sure before my FP+ 60 day window opens.

This is a good idea. I had wondered what we were going to do in Epcot since we really only want 1 FP+ (we would want more than 1 if they weren't tiered). Does anyone want any fastpasses outside of Tier 1? It's almost like a punishment to MAKE you choose those ....

Anyway, thanks for the idea. We'll book Captain EO and Figment for first thing in the a.m. ......

I am thinking that's what I'm going to do too, sort of. We land at 12:25 and take ME to VWL...then we'll hit Epcot so I'll make random FP+ for 1-2, then Spaceship Earth from 2-3 (in case we do get into Epcot by 3, we can jump right on SE on our way to Soarin) and book Soarin from 3-4...actually, I might move up 30 minutes sooner. Maybe I'll be able to grab a TT FP+ after Soarin (wishful thinking maybe). Or DH and I will just do single rider.

My window for FP opens June 18 and there are five of us. DH, DS10, DD5, and DS3. Am I required to book the same FP for all of us? Or can I send DH and DS10 to space mountain while I meet Elsa and Anna with the littles?

You can split up.

You do not have to make them all together. I even have some in my party that are going to different parks on the same day and there was no problem booking the FP+s for each group.

You can cancel the 2 at any time, night before or in park, it doesn't matter. You can use a PC at home or if in park, pull up the website in your phone browser - there's no option to cancel single FP+s on the app, there you can only cancel the whole day, so you must cancel on the website. Then after you've used the 1 you kept, you're able to go to a kiosk to select the 4th, free of tiers etc.

stairstepmom, have you actually be able to do this in the parks?

I can see the draw as trying to get a fast pass for a tier 1 or anything decent at AK would really only work this way. With that said I tried that once at the park and was told no that all 3 must be used first. I could cancel but would be given another for something that would have never required a fast pass.

We had many days with all morning fast passes hoping to get a 4th right around 12. All the rides that required fast passes pre fastpass+ were all gone. (everest, kali, soaring, test tract, rocking roller coaster etc) At Mk yes you could still get plenty but the real problems are within the other 3 parks.

I think the point is that this system seems to require constant vigilance to see what latest loophole is discovered........ so that you can be on par with the other guests in the parks. Because every guest that is doing this is grabbing those limited leftover tier 1 FPs before anyone else can get them.

I appreciate the heads up on this, and will use it. But seriously. It's exhausting trying to keep up with all this.

And people used to complain that it was impossible for people to know they could use paper FPs late.

Not sure how people are pulling this stuff off unless you are scheduling at 60 days out which is what I originally did. Unfortunately, that was before they made the changes to the FP+ and allowing the 4th FP+. Now that I am only 28 days out I can't seem to get very much at Epcot for early in the morning. Seems ads though more and more people are catching on to the game and booking the rides they don't want and will let expire for first thing so they can get to the 4th FP+ sooner. Still going to be a great vacation and trip, can't wait! pixie dust: :dance3: :cool1:

I don't see this as a loophole.

For Epcot let's say, you're giving up your two Tier 2s ahead of time in exchange for being able to see what is available for the 4th FP earlier. But you don't know what you are going to get...you might get nothing and then you'll have to drown your sorrows in World Showcase for the rest of the day ;)

There are other loopholes that I think should be fixed, but this isn't one of them.

I agree that's its a gamble but it might not be a bad one. We would essentially be gambling away 2 FP's that probably aren't even needed for the chance to get more good ones in Epcot or HS. Interesting to see how it works out, I could see us using this strategy in Epcot, we never need FP for anything not named Soarin' or TT.

Also agree, don't fix it.

purty please!!!!

Definitely, it's a great gamble if the tier 2s aren't worth it to you. Really you have nothing to lose if you don't care about the tier 2s.

Not me, but several live reports testing this out from another group I'm in. :)

Any links?

I've read where folks were going to try this but haven't read any results yet. We considered doing this on our visit a couple of weeks ago but I was not able to schedule an early morning FP. The change to additional FPs took place a little before our visit so my original plans were set up under the previous FP guidelines (i.e. only 3 FPs and no additionals).

I understand. To be honest this is really only something I would try in Epcot anyway. The true problem here is Epcot itself and not FP+ though.
