Hi, i was wondering is getting to MK for rope drop a similar crowd as would show up for a.m. emh?
There is only a.m. emh at MK once during our week. I'm trying to decide if we should plan rope drop and then leave the park an hour later to go eat a character breakfast or go eat first and wander in MK after eating. We really loved the am EMH at MK, i was surprised how much we did get to do in Fantasyland.

In general. the EARLIER the park is open, the fewer guests will show up at that early time.

The more efficient plan for riding attractions with fewer guests is to arrive and ride as early as possible,
then, after the morning gets later (the later the better,)
pause for a nice meal as the park becomes filled with the guests who prefer to sleep-in.

The earlier that you can get into the park the better so you can get a lot done while crowds are low.

Then once the crowds start to build later in the morning take a break or go for lunch

that is good advice, i will have at the time a 4yr old and 1 yr old, so i was planning on doing character meal, early park, 3pm parade, and then leaving for pool time. After pool time we'll have dinner and then they'll go to bed. Hopefully i can sneak out and go to MK or Epcot after they go to bed. DH can stay w/ them.

Sounds like a good plan. We like to get there early and see as much as possible. Take a break and then head back out at night.

i would like to head back out after a midday break but with their ages and sleep habits of barely napping, or not at all, they have to go to bed early so we're just planning on going back to the resort for pool time each day.

When we went to the Magic Kingdom EMH in November it was only Fantasyland which was opened. Not sure if its changed now or not but that caught us out as we had planned to do the BTMRR and Splash first.

For all the trips we have taken with young children, that strategy has worked well for us. Our kids are early risers, so getting to AM EMH is not that rough and we can get a LOT done in a couple hours. We then do an early lunch and catch a couple more rides after that. Sitting down and eating in the A/C is a good break. Also, I'd recommend booking your FP+ for between lunch (or late breakfast, if you prefer) and 3PM when the crowds have picked up a bit more.

caught us too! we went away from the crowd to go to Jungle Cruise and Pirates, but it was roped off, then we had to re-join the crowd to get to Fantasyland!
In all our trips we never did a.m. EMH only p.m.!

Actually tomorrowland is open too for morning EMH.
