Many ppl speak of rope drop. Because Main Street is open an hour before the park opens visitors can enter thru the turnstile an hour early correct? Which means rope drop is actually in Disneyland and not outside the gate right? Plz explain? Also is M. Street open before Magic Morning hour? Does Cal adv. have an early opening for shopping and rope drop?

Rope drop is at the end of Main Street in DL and at the end of Buena Vista Street in DCA, not at the turnstiles. And when we did MM Main Street was not open at all until MM officially started.

Sorry but you want an explanation for something that can change literally every day of the week. It depends on the crowds and the park hours and the decision process and whether there are early entry hour.

Sometimes guests are not allowed into DL early at all. Sometimes they are and are held at the end of Main Street with a physical rope. Sometimes they are allowed into the hub area and are held there.

DCA change their early entry policy in June. Now they use a rope most or all days. When RSR dies down they will probably change it again.

For Disneyland, if the park opens at 8am, there is generally no rope drop. If the park opens at 9am or later, they will open the turnstiles 30 mins before the opening and allow people onto Main St. Rope drop is at the end of Main St. Magic Morning doesn't open any earlier than the 1 hour before the park opening.

California Adventure has been opening the turnstiles 30 mins before the opening time to allow for line up for FP for racers.

The answer is "nobody knows" - and I mean nobody, not even Disney. Several weeks ago, people were supposed to be let through the turnstiles about a half hour before park opening (no MM), but the CMs could not log into their terminals and weren't able to scan tickets until a few minutes after the official time.

I wrote earlier about what I thought was an interesting Magic Morning experience a few days ago in the "Early Admission" thread.

My one experience with rope-drop was at DL this past Halloween time on a non-EE/MM day. We got there about 1/2 hr before the park opened, short line at the gate, meandered down main street (looked like the stores were open), then had a nice rest on the benches in front of the Partners statue waiting for the official opening. The cast member there was nice and chatty, and seemed to have been with DL for a while. Someone mentioned running and he agreed that you were not allowed to run, but since people in the DL commercials skip through the park skipping must be allowed. (I thought that was funny.)

There was a short announcement over the loudspeakers welcoming us to DL (no show like WDW), and then we were allowed to enter Fantasy Land. There was a similar group of people waiting over by Tomorrow Land. It was awesome to be there early with little to no line for Peter Pan, Alice, Pixie Hallow, etc.

I understood that there were many variables. That's why I was curious. Thanks for explaining and the link. :)
