Rope drop Navi

Another arrival time question here- I’m planning on being at the park for around 8:30/8:45 and have a 9:05 FP Navi. Are we going to wait in a line/ crowd to get there? This is not an EMH morning. I’d like to use FP first thing but can’t be sure we’ll be at the park and through security until 8:30/8:45 but if we’re going to wait in a crowd I can try to move this FP later and do something else first. If it helps, we are not going on FoP, just Navi.

I would either move the Navi FP to later, and rope drop something else. Navi doesn't build a line that quickly anyway, so arriving at 9:05 for your FP wouldn't even save much time in line.

If you can't move the FP, you can still rope drop EE, and some other things, and still get back to Navi by 10:05

Thanks! It probably would have helped if I added we are only in AK for 2-3 hours, and only going on KS with FP, NRJ with FP, and Triceratop Spin. We also want to see Gorilla Falls, spend a little time in Pandora (because every time we visit I feel like we rush right through and I'm a photographer who is dying to shoot some of the amazing colorful things they have there), and visit Russell & Dug. I also need lunch on the way out around 11:30, so I have from about 9-11:30 to do these few things. I also want to use the FP as early as I can so I can snag some FP for HS later that day.

I'm considering going to Triceratop first (not exactly a headliner in need of RD but try telling that to DS2 o_O), lining up for Russell & Dug and then heading over to Navi (say for 9:45 ish) to use FP before heading to KS for 10:05 FP. Mainly, I'd rather not wait 20-30 minutes on the bridge to Pandora (is that still happening? We usually head to the right when we get to AK early and not to Pandora) when I could use that time for something else and then still use FP if that makes any sense.

When we were there last May, we walked on Navi at rope drop then my sister and I went to the other side of the park while my parents, DH & the kids grabbed breakfast and walked on Everest (it's my favorite coaster). We had FP that afternoon for FOP.

Then go for the Triceratop Spin... do it twice, even, if DS2 wants. :)
That sounds even better! He LOVES that ride, and I'm not potentially standing in a line to get into Pandora to use an FP I didn't really "need". Man, I need to spend more time in AK apparently- it's the one park where I feel like it's always my first visit.

I too have a fast pass for FOP and was thinking about getting through the gates around 9:15, would that still work to go on Navi in a short time? Trying to avoid the extreme rush at park opening.

If you have a FOP FP around 2-3, is there likely to be Na’vi FP or River of Light FP available afterwards?

What time is your FOP FP???

Yes but for NRJ it might not be easy to get and you might need to stalk the mde app for a while.
You might get lucky with a few minutes of refreshing, or you might not. ROL will be very easy to get with a couple of minutes of refreshing.

I think refresh is becoming more and more popular that there are more people looking at any given time

this is great advice! so I can take a 7:45 ish bus and walk through gates after 8am and still get right on Navi? is Navi a good thing to try to ride twice or should I move my FP up for FOP
Yes. I went at that time last August, with a 9:10 FOP FP. I rode NRJ three times in a row (the second time without even getting off) and still had time to walk around Pandora before FOP.

This is making me rethink my plan, I wonder if I could go to KS and squeeze that in before my FOP FP window expires, is it a long walk to Africa from Pandora

If you head that way at opening, you should be on within 20 minutes. It is definitely not worth a FP. Enjoy! :)

We just did this last week. We didn't get there super early. We arrived to the park probably around 8:30, made our way toward the entrance of Pandora, where they had the crowd held. At around 8:45 they walked them back to Pandora. The vast majority headed to FOP. We walked on Navi, and were done in enough time to get off and head toward Africa before 9, so they were holding crowds there. We briskly walked KS and were on it in under 10 minutes.

so the question is... do I try to do KS or maybe instead since I have a FP for that at 10-11, try to squeeze in a few dinoland rides? is Africa closer than Dinoland?

then I can Pandora at 10, Safari at 11

1. is Africa closer than Dinoland?

2. then I can Pandora at 10, Safari at 11

1. To what, the front entrance? Africa is a bit farther from the central entrance point. Not a big difference.
If you mean is Africa (Safari) closer to Pandora than Dinoland, still not a major difference at that time of day.

2. That's fine.

It's pretty far, maybe 15-20 minutes, but I would be more concered about KS taking longer than expected, due to animal unpredictability.

We rope dropped Navi on an EMH day last week and we walked right on. It said 5 min. When we came out it said 10 min. Within or time of walking around Pandora though, it was up to 60 min when we walked back by.
