I have a 9:10 FOP FP and was wondering if I would be able to rope drop Navi before hand without too much wait. I probably will be passed up by people trying to get to FOP but is the line long at RD for Navi as well? I cant walk as fast as some will so was curious about the wait I might encounter. Thanks.

Edit:

Under the walking situation you describe about yourself, figure Navi would be nearly walk-on depending on the general crowd level that morning.

You'd be able to use your FP easily within it's hour (plus 15 min. grace period.)

OP was asking about NRJ rope drop and not FOP.
Unless things significantly changed over the last year, for that you need to show up around 5-10 mins before park open and can be towards the end of the RD crowds.
Should be a walk on really to NRJ and you will probably be out before your FP window for FOP even opens.

Good to hear this, I was a little worried since we had planned on rope dropping Navi before moving to other attractions! I know in October Navi was a walk on first thing, even if you don't rush to keep up with the crowd and was hoping it was still true.

We were there last Sunday with the same FOP FP time. We stayed left while the rest of the pack went right to FOP. They opened about 8:45a and we were off Na’avi in plenty of time!

you shouldn't have any problem.
The majority of the crowd heading to Pandora at RD is all headed to FoP. Usually very few going to Navi.
I would still get there early to get ahead of the huge crowd that shows up just before RD.
You should be let into the park about 8:30 and let into Pandora about 8:45.
I would expect you to be off navi by 9. So if anyhting you may be early for your FPs.

So would you arrive around 8am or earlier, then?

You should plan on being at the turnstiles right at or a few minutes before the park official open time. That varies day to day depending on season and EMH. On a 9am open time with EMH, getting there at 9 means you missed RD by an hour so mind those days that EMH is offered.

This is our plan exactly! I have a 9:25 FP FOP, and 10:25 FP for KS but we are going on an EMH morning. 8am opening. Do they open earlier than 8? Did I leave too much time at 1 hour and half to do Na’vi river and is an hour enough with FP wait for FOP to get to the safari at 10:25?

Yes they start letting people in earlier. If you rope drop Navi at opening time, you will be out by 8:15. You can backtrack, do dinosaur, maybe EE too before going back to Pandora for your FOP FP. FOP through FP line takes about 1/2 hour, so plenty of time to make Safari.

We were there last week. Due to a 45 minute bus delay, our plans to rope drop FOP were thwarted and we arrived at 8:40am to Pandora. I clocked how long it took to get on Navi and it was exactly 10 minutes. Not a problem at all.

If you want to do NRJ at park opening, but not FOP, you wouldn't need to be there super early. You don't really need to get in the mob of people, as they're all heading towards FOP. But, you'll want to be right behind them. NRJ will still be a walk-on, but many of the people that ride FOP first will then be heading towards NRJ.

this is great advice! so I can take a 7:45 ish bus and walk through gates after 8am and still get right on Navi? is Navi a good thing to try to ride twice or should I move my FP up for FOP

I have a 9:00 fast pass for FOP on an EMH day. Original plan was to rope drop KS and possibly EE before our FOP fast pass. We do have fast passes for EE and Dinosaur. Do you think it would be possible to do Navi and KS before our fast pass for FOP?
