Rope Drop Frozen Tips?

I am planning on rope dropping Frozen Ever After in the morning to get a head start on the 5 hour wait. Would people say to be at EPCOT by 8, so I would be as close to the front when the park opens at 9? Is everyone going to FEA or are there still a lot of people heading to Soarin or Test Track?

I would love to know how it works as well. If you're at the front of the turnstiles in the morning and power walk to Norway/wherever they hold you before letting you head to Norway, will you get on in less than 15-30 minutes?

I specifically am curious how they handle merging guests from IG.

Josh at Easywdw posted a pic from the other day and stated that 8:15 is "late" from now on for rope dropping Epcot. So I'd say the earlier, the better. 8 might be okay, earlier would be better. Good luck!

Was that on a blog post or FB? I don't have FB but follow the blog regularly- think I missed that but would love to read more!

And there is always the strategy of using the "Breakfast ADR Turnstile" as soon as they open it to all Guests at Park Open.

It is a "veteran move" and does require a little experience!lol:)

CMs are reporting guests with pre-park opening ADRs are skipping their breakfasts and lining up for the ride. Today it was reported there was a lengthy line/wait at 8:30 ~ 30 minutes before official ride opening.

We had an 8:15 Garden Grill reservation earlier this week and when we arrived at the International Gateway around 7:45, there were people already there waiting to make a beeline for the Frozen ride. I'd plan on getting there early.

I have to believe we will see them start to require prepay for Akershus breakfast. $10/person "fast pass" isn't a horrible deal in respect to Disney Economics.

I did Akershus PPO but actually sat down to eat... Albeit very quickly.

With 8:05 Akershus ADR on a 9am opening day, could we not expect to go to Soarin' and the A+E meet and then FP FEA? That was my strategy, but now I'm not sure?

Nope.

First, Akershus is in World Showcase. You would have to hike back to Soarin'. Akershus is fine to do the Frozen stuff, but not in hopes of doing Soarin' early. If you want Soarin', the PPO is Garden Grill. They really aren't close enough to make an early breakfast then run on all three.

If you have a FP for FEA, do PPO Garden Grill.

Your plan would work much better if you were doing Garden Grill instead. I wouldn't want to fight the rope drop crowd to get all the way out of World Showcase and go all the way over to Soarin', then backtrack ALL the way back to Norway for A&E and FEA.

Thanks for all of the recommendations. However, it is to late for me to make a breakfast reservation, and not willing to pay the money if I didn't show up. I'm planning on getting on the first bus from my resort in the morning. I'm fine with waiting 30-40 minutes. I lived by Disneyland my entire life and used to those type of wait times. I'm even used to hour wait times without complaining. I'm excited to see this new attraction.

Thank you! Ok, that is good to know about Soarin'. I really do want to ride it though. I hope the wait won't be too bad, but I know it's probably the most popular after FEA.. I think with my crew (me, my two girls (1 and 5), and my mom) we will stick with Akershus and go to the Frozen stuff, then hope for the best with Soarin.

Does your PPO ADR need to be for Akershus? Or could I get one for Garden Grill and head over to WS to line up ahead of the RD crowd?

Yes, you could do that. Entertainment CMs at both breakfasts noted the low number of diners. The characters were able to have longer interactions with the guests who did show up for breakfast. :)

Thanks, good to know.

I'm assuming I would be held back at the RD location, and not allowed to wait outside the line like those who had ADRs at Akershus? Or if it was early enough could I just stroll back there and say I have an ADR?
