Hi! We were fortunate enough to get a FP for FoP, so I’m debating whether to rope drop Na’vi. If anyone can share their experiences with that, I would appreciate it. I don’t plan on lining up hours early for it and would rather avoid the stampede to Pandora that I’ve been hearing about...

Stay to the left approaching Pandora. Rope dropping Navi is not bad. Probably about 80% of the people going to Pandora are rope dropping FOP. Its just like if you are rope dropping Fantasyland, but have a FP for 7DMT later in the day so are not worried about that ride.

I did RD solo for NRJ near the end of October on a Sunday. I got to AK at 8:40 on a 9am opening morning. People were walking briskly/light jog around me as they opened a few minutes prior and I took my time getting back to Pandora, taking pictures along the way. Walked on to NRJ, went back in line and had roughly a 15 minute wait. So rode twice before 9:30. After the second time riding, the line was 45 minutes but looked even longer.

We rope dropped Navi in August on a busy day. Everyone was going to FOP, we walked right on Navi- we did not get there extra early either, just at opening time.

We have an 8:15 Tusker House breakfast reservation and are planning to go straight to Navi after ... can anyone tell me the best way to do this? Looking at the map, I see there are 2 ways to get to Pandora from Africa. What will the RD procedure be from this direction?

We were at AK on Tue 10/24. We arrived to park at 8:45am for a 9am open and they had just started letting people enter the park. There were long lines for bag checks and took nearly 10 minutes to get through. Touring Plans recorded crowd level was 5 out of 10. We went straight toward Na'vi River and entered the line right at 9:02am. The posted wait was 20 minutes, but we only waited 10-15 minutes. By the time we exited Na'vi at 9:20am, the wait was at 45 minutes. We then went over to use FP to ride FOP. Exited FOP around 10am and the wait for Na'vi was up to 60 and continued to increase.

That said, it was NOT a mad rush when we arrived, as the mob had already been released to walk toward FOP. People were walking briskly, but it was calm and orderly. Nothing stressful at all about our arrival time to the park. We also took a taxi from Poly to AK for this day and the taxi drop off is directly in front of the park entrance.

This is my plan on my AK day, as I have a FP for FoP. Glad to hear that it will probably work well. I was thinking about rope dropping FoP so I could ride twice, but maybe this is a better idea.

You probably won’t be out until park open so RD procedures shouldn’t be an issue.

I’d opt for RD Navi and riding FOP once. Couple of reasons: FOP takes up 30 min or more even with a FP, so riding it twice would take up a big chunk of you day, plus by the time you were done the Navi line could already be 45 min or more. Also, we rode FOP on 2 different days. It is an AWESOME ride but there’s nothing quite like the very first time you ride it. Still awesome that 2nd time, but IMO, not enough value added in the day to take up 30 more min to ride it plus an additional 30+ min that will be added to the Navi wait.

About how much time should we allocate to walking around Pandora after we RD Na'vi? We are not doing FOP until the end of the night.

It’s actually fairly small. And very crowded, especially in the morning. Maybe just 10 minutes? Get a photopass family pic done. Our kids liked playing on some instruments in this one little area. We also spent 10 min after FOP buying a banshee for DS, so if you want any gift shop time then add in time for that. Then plan a little time at night because it’s so pretty then!

Thank you for this.

I wasn't sure if we needed 30 minutes or more to walk around. So 10-20 minutes is perfect. We are planning on going back around 7:30pm to see it at night and then get in line FOP before 8pm park closing time.

Did it this morning....got to the gates right at 9:00...wanted to get there earlier but bus took about 30 minutes to get to POR...we walked straight to Navi for a 25 minute wait. But any later and you were toast...by the time we got off the ride Navi wait time was 90 minutes and FoP 240 minutes!

I am planning to get to AK at 8:30 and heading to NRJ. Sounds like that should work well! Yay!
