Hi All, I am looking for some advice or what to expect on RD at MK & HS. We have been to WDW many times, but believe it or not, have never RD'd. We have been late morning/afternoon visitors. With our DS6 school/sleep schedule, we have adjusted an want to rope drop this year. We leave next Saturday.

Not to sure how early to arrive or where to go or beat path, etc.

We would like to try hit 7DMT & Peter Pan (maybe a stretch?).

At HS, we will head directly over to sign DS6 up for Jedi training.

Thanks for any advice and info you guys can provide.

All guests will be admitted to Main St. starting at 8AM every day that MK's opening time is 9AM.
There will be hundreds (if not thousands) of guests waiting in front of the castle who will be headed directly to 7DMT.

At DHS, on days when the park opens at 9AM, waiting guests will be admitted
onto Hollywood Blvd. starting between 8:30 and 8:45AM. many of them will be headed to Jedi Training sign-up and/or waiting to be released to head directly to TSM.

At HS keep to your left for Jedi right side is RNR TOT middle tends to be TSMM ( this is not what every one dose but a good number of people )

You can easily do 7DMT and PP at rope drop. Do 7DMT first, then PP. You might have a 20 minute wait or so for PP depending on how busy the park is but it will still be much much shorter than if you do it later in the day. This is what we always do at RD and it has worked well for us doing both slower and busier times of the year. Have fun!

PP stand by line is very good and fun some think better then the ride it self. Once inside you are almost to the fun part. I would also do 7DMT first then PP

Thanks for the advice. With guests being let onto main st at 8:00, what time would they be doing the Welcome show?

if the park opens 8 am they will do it at 8 am if the park opens to resort guest at 8 am and regular guest at 9 am then they will do it at 9 am either way you more then likely will miss it.

For Jedi Training signup, once you are admitted onto Hollywood Blvd around 8:30-8:45 are you allowed to go to the sign up booth right away or are you held until rope drop? The last time we did Jedi Training was early 2016 and we were allowed to sign up around 8:30 and could still rope drop another attraction. Just wondering if the process is the still the same or if you now have to wait until rope drop? Thank you!

I am pretty sure you have to wait for rope drop.

We did rope drop on MK on December 28 (very busy time) and did both Peter Pan and 7DMT at that time. We did PP first (waited maybe 10 minutes) and then did 7DMT (waited maybe 20-25 minutes). We've FP'd both these rides in the past, and it was kind of fun to walk through the regular line. Enjoy your trip!!

You really should check out Robo’s maps, they are fantastic and put you on the correct path. I would really suggest doing 7DMT as a FP+ later and hitting PP at RD. We did them both at RD the week of thanksgiving and it ate up about an hour. We RD’ed PP later in the week on a busier day and saved 7DMT for a fast pass later. We were able to ride 6 rides in the same amount of time. IMHO you are better served to RD one of those and FP+ the other. Either way...go with Robo’s maps, especially for Jedi training. Good luck and have a great trip!

Edit: you asked for when to arrive. It depends, for 7DMT I would go with at least 45 minutes before park opening, maybe an hour. Otherwise you are stuck in at least a 30 minute line. For PP, 30 minutes is sufficient. For Jedi, 30 minutes early should be fine.
