Fp+ for Space at 9:20a-10:20a.

rope drop this morning:

Space x2
BTMRR x4
Haunted Mansion
Space Fp+

It can be done.

No one said RD advantage was dead.

Except maybe at DHS it's a bit less of an advantage because of the Frozen rigamarole.

RD at MK is still an awesome and viable touring strategy. That's never been debated here. It's DHS that it's a mess at.

Wow! Great morning. May I ask what order you did them?

In the order of the original post. We got to the MK at 8:30, there were probably 200-250 ppl in front of us walking down Main Street, and we were on the first car at Space Mountain.

Yesterday, in order, we did:

BTMRR x2 (5 minute wait)
Haunted Mansion x2 (<5 minute wait)
Pirates (10 minute wait)
Magic Carpets (5 minute wait)

and got coffee, all before 10:30. Big crowd heading towards BTMRR, but orderly and the line moved fast

Rope drop in the MK and AK are still the way to go. You can get a lot done. With FP+ and tiering.....not so much at DHS and Epcot. Rope drop is still valuable/necessary at those parks, as it allows you to get one of the headliners that you couldn't FP+ done with a reasonable wait, but it's not quite like it used to be.

At DHS the way to go is to schedule a TSMM FP+ for 9:30 to 10:30. Hit RnR at rope drop, then you should be able to get ToT with a relatively short wait, then make your way over to TSMM for your FP+. That would knock out the three headliners an the first hour or so.

At Epcot the play is to FP+ TT, and hit Soarin' at rope drop.

:thumbsup2 Totally agree. Got there at 8:30 for RD and by 10 AM we were able to do (in order) Space, Pooh, PP, HM, BTM twice and then used our first FP+ at Splash. Crowds really begin to pick up by 10:30-11.

That is great! RD at MK has always been wonderful, due to the many choices in the park. So many people go in different directions. :thumbsup2

I agree with everyone. RD at MK is still the way to go. Every day we were there in July we hit at RD and left around noon when the masses started filing in. We rode everything we wanted (some multiple times) with little wait. And like everyone else said, HS is a whole other animal. We went in afternoon on our HS day, and it was a madhouse (as expected for afternoon). but on our last day DD and DH went at rope drop to get in RR before we left, and they STILL had a 50 minute wait. Crazy. That Frozen stuff has got to go. I was so disappointed to walk in, and not get the full view of the sorcerers hat, just a stage and rigging in front of it. Then when they do the dance parties, it is beyond crazy.

I never waste Fast Passes at AK. We just rope drop it...(front of the turnstile rope drop) and have 2 or 3 rides on EE by 9:15. Then head to the Safari and then Dino.....no wait for anything. Did this Tuesday morning and only reason we had to wait a short bit for Dino was that it was down for about 15 mins or so. Then we use our Fast Passes in the evening at another park.

That's my plan this year. Well not my plan (It's Josh's plan), but it is the plan we are trying this year. Then FP for another park in afternoon.

Totally agree! We RD at the MK during our June visit and got so much done while it wasn't blistering hot and crowded. Will definitely use this strategy again.

It's an awesome plan! Just hit EE before the safari because EE is over quick and you never know how long the safari will last!

I had gotten a 9am safari FP for next week. Should I not even bother with the FP and still show up then, since we'll be at a different park later on in the day?

Thanks for the great tips, I had not thought about that. Adjusted plan already, before I posted a reply. :yay:

Glad to hear it OP! :thumbsup2

I'll be there soon and I'm relying on a lot of rope drop days. I know HS is going to be annoying, but at least MK is good.
