Rooms opened up at Poly!!

My DH and I planned a trip to WDW from 10/20-27 way back in March and booked at the POFQ. Well, when free dining came out there were no rooms available there so we switched to Caribbean Beach Resort. Every once in a while I would get on to see if rooms opened up anywhere, and there was NOTHING! I think there may have been rooms at one of the All Star resorts and maybe Pop, but that was it. Well, for the heck of it I got on Disney's site tonight and there were rooms available at the Poly!! I couldn't believe it, I thought maybe when I checked that I didn't do it with the free dining offer. So I went out and looked again, and sure enough there were rooms available!! I hopped on the phone and made the change from CBR to Poly and I'm absolutely ecstatic And, because we upgraded, there was no charge for changing resorts so close to our dates.

So, if you have your heart set on another resort or you booked somewhere you didn't really want just to get a promotion, keep looking and don't give up! I certainly never expected to get a room at the Poly.

That's great that you got the resort you wanted. Last year we went while the Gartner Symposium was going on, and had a hard time getting the resort we wanted. I checked every day, several times a day, and something finally opened up. Persistence definitely pays off sometimes! Glad it worked our for you! The Poly is our favorite resort!

Awsome , had the same experience. GF was the only resort with free dining left, so we took it. Called a CM one day to verify and told them we really had our hearts set on Poly, he looked it up, found a room, even though the web said they had none, and rebooked us for the same price!!!

We'll be at the Poly October 24-28. When I first booked (in late August) we thought we'd go October 25-28 but then a few days later decided to arrive October 24 instead. Well, there was nothing available at the Poly for the 24th so we booked a room-only reservation at Pop. I still kept checking for the Poly and FINALLY last week I was able to get Oct 24 at the Poly!

I didn't know anything about the Symposium until people on the boards were talking about it, and I certainly didn't realize that the resorts would be so booked up! I don't know what happened that the Poly opened up but I'm very grateful for it. And it wasn't just one type of room either, it was everything from Garden view to Club Level. I'm excited to stay there, and I have a feeling it'll be our favorite as well!!

Oh wow! Had I known this I would've called to check once in a while versus just looking online! And having it rebooked for the same price is amazing, you had a very generous CM! It's great when they go the extra mile to make your trip magical

That's great, it is always so much more fun to get to stay at the place you desire. We are staying at Poly for the first time next June. Have fun!

Yup and it happened on a day where i got some real bad news. I was going to write WDW to tell them how awsome my CM was but in the chaos that week k forgot his name.

Would you mind me asking how much more money it cost to go from CBR to the Poly? We were in a similar situation - booked for POFQ for the exact same dates, then changed to CSR to get free dining. I would love to upgrade, but not sure how much more we can spend. Thanks and congrats on upgrading!
