Hi-- planning a future and first trip for DL! We have a family of five- wondering if any of the hotels have standard rooms (not suites) that sleep five.. similar to BW, BC YC, CR, Poly or GF?

thanks!
Jen

All three onsite hotels have rooms with 2 queens and a sofa bed. The grand californian also has a room option that is one queen and a bunkbed. The bunkbed also has a trundle bed, which means 3 seperate beds. The problem is that you cannot reserve these rooms but instead just "request" them, meaning there is no guarantee you will get them.

We used the two queens and day bed at DLH for our 5 person family. It worked really well. With the rooms being a bit larger than standard, while sung, we weren't on top of each other in the room.

The day bed is a couch where the back of the couch folds forwards. Doesn't take up anymore space than the couch itself. our kids, DD9, DS8, DD5 loved the day bed so much we made them take turns each night

DLH has 2 queens and a daybed. I believe PPH does too. GCH has sleeping bags for a 5th person.

GCH also has 2 queens and a daybed for some standard view rooms (I should know, as the one in my family that always ends up sleeping on the daybed!).

We've been to GCH 6 times now, and every time have requested a bunk bed room. Luckily we've always gotten our request :-) it's helpful when you have little ones who still roll around in bed. The lower bunk is lower to the floor than the queen size bed, and the trundle is about as low as you can go without sleeping on the floor. Even so, we still had times when our kids have rolled off the lower bunk at night (finally at age 5, it seems like they're staying in the bed).

We love the DLH also. We have only stayed at the GC once and while it is beautiful and the location is nice, we just felt like the rooms at the DLH were a little larger and for our family worked a little better. Both hotels are wonderful and you'll be happy with either I'm sure.

We stayed at PPH in a room with a daybed and it worked out great! The other two have them as well.

Here's a little tip that will keep you from going on a wild goose chase. The thought may cross your mind to try to rent points to stay at a Studio at Grand Cali. And you're thinking to yourself "I can get one of the studios that sleeps 5". You would be wrong about that. Disney in all it's profiteering science has eliminated all studios that sleep 5 from the DVC listing of rooms. Dirty rotten if you ask me. If you want to sleep 5, get ready to shell out about $500/night for the studio at rack rates. Don't even try! They'll shoot you down at every angle. I actually thought for a while that I had a chance at staying at that hotel, which makes it worse when you realize there's no short cuts or discounts at a Disney Hotel.

We managed to get a 2-bedroom suite on Hotwire in Orlando. I don't think its as easy in Anaheim though. Last time were were there we stayed at Crowne Plaza, and had 2 queen beds. We squeezed ourselves into that room but the kids were a lot younger. Not sure if we could do a single hotel room again.

Check out the anabella. We got an AMAZING deal. Has a big bed plus a pull out couch plus a day bed

You might try the Best Western Park Place Inn & Suites. We got a great rate for September for a double queen "suite" that includes a sofa sleeper. It's not really a suite - there's just a short, divider wall between the beds and the sofa. We've stayed there our last three visits and have no complaints.

Our family of 5 also likes staying in the "suites" at BWPPI. It just gives you a little extra room without being a full suite.
