What exactly is considered "outer building garden view"? I'm debating if I should upgrade a bit.

I believe outer bldg is any other building other than the main or club level. I've had outer bldg garden view and ended up with a view of the courtyard and another time had a view of the lake and narcoossees. I'm sure they have a specific type assigned to each catagory..

Interesting....so its a crap shoot. :rotfl:

An outer building GV room is just a room located someplace other than the main GF building. The main building consists of restaurants, shops, monorail, and Royal Palm Club (the most expensive of the 2 club level options available at the GF). All of the rooms in the main building are RPC CL. Outer buildings consist of GV, LGV, TPV, or Sugarloaf CL. HTH :).

First page, first post, midway down.
Last December, my garden view was in Sago Cay on the water side, I loved watching the monorail glide by across the little inlet of water from my balcony. Sago Cay was super convenient to both the marina and the main building.

We had a GV room in Big Pine Key and loved it. The GF isn't that spread out (IMO), so I don't think there is a bad choice as far as outer building locations ;).

I have a GV room booked for August and requested a marina view. Apparently marina and pool views are part of GV category at GF. For now
They will prob in future split the categories like they've done at other resorts like BC/YC which now have standard view and garden view.

I hate learning a new resort and not having a lot of team for research:rotfl2: I would adore a courtyard pool view. If I get a minute today, I'm going to request that.

We had a garden view in Sago Cay facing the monorail and the spit of lagoon that when past the building. It was a great location for being near Gaparilla Grill, the water taxi, and a shortcut b/w the Convention bldg and the main bldg to get to the Bus stop (didn't have to go through the main building).

Thanks so much for this info and for the question from the op!! I'm wondering the same exact thing; we are all booked (leaving four weeks from today!!) and I have no idea what the layout is or what to request if anything.... now to check on that map! :)

Come on people....do I look like an amatuer? The map was the first thing I pulled up when I booked the GF the other day. I printed my map and I have notes all over....if Columbus would have had my map, he wouldn't have gotten lost. :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm a perpetual planner and we are leaving in 2 weeks and I'm freaking out a bit. 3 weeks is NOT ENOUGH PLANNING TIME :goodvibes

That's exactly what I would request. If you request a particular building, the room assigner won't know why you want that building and wouldn't be able to find the next best alternative, so requesting a certain view will give him/her more options ;).

Have a great trip......the GF is an amazing resort :goodvibes.
