My daughter and 3 grandchildren have booked a room at the Grand. We don't want to chance the pool situation at the DLH. She has twin boys who are only 3 and an 8 year old. their favorite part is the pool. so I bit the bullet and got a room at the Grand. I will sleep with the 8 year old and she will sleep with the boys. She thought she'd ask her husband if he would like to come never dreaming he say yes, well he did. Now my problem, I don't see all of us in one room. Does the hotel have any other option other than renting a whole other room. I can't seem to get sizes of the rooms or if they have suites, and if they do what their prices are. I will call tomorrow morning as their reservation line is closed. I just was wondering if anyone had any info as to how much I'm going to have to fork over!!!

I believe the max to a room is 5, so you can't have 6 in one room. I think the suites are more expensive than 2 rooms. Maybe do Paradise Pier instead?

I may have to do that.

Nana, you might want to look at seeing if you can book one of the one bedroom Villas...you might want to check the point renting board? I don't think you can put 6 in a hotel room, and the rooms are on the smallish side, anyway...smaller than the Sheraton rooms.

Ditto. 5 is the max for one room due to fire codes. Best to look into Paradise Pier.

I went and looked at renting the villas, but the smallest only sleeps 4 and the next sze up sleeps for $600.00 So it doesn't seem much better, since with the sale I can get two rooms for that price. Oh well. The kids and I kind of had our heart set on the Grand. Imay just have to get 2 rooms.

The max is 5 but do they really check? We are there 5/8-17, but I also got an extra room for Fri/Sat (5/13-14) for my extended family (converging from TX, San Fran, So. Cal) to join us. We are 2 adults and twin 5-year-olds. They are four adults, 16 y.o., 11 y.o. and 1 y.o.

We just planned for the mom with a 1 y.o. to stay in our room and the other five together. I think we're fine. But I guess for you, someone would have to sleep on the floor? We get the bunk bed room, so the mom and baby can sleep together on the lower bunk or trundle. Maybe your twins can sleep on the trundle, too?

Taking a chance on the pool...what are you concerned about? If the DLH pool is closed during your stay, you'll be allowed to go to another pool (which is normally completely forbidden). The hotels have changing areas (well, the Grand does...I didn't pay all that much attention at PPH when we swam, though PPH is my favorite onsite hotel by far) so you don't have to walk around in a wet bathing suit as stated in the other thread. Just bring your stuff and change.

In case you don't know, in case you're used to the more lax pool/slide rules at WDW, they are strict about height and swimming ability for the slides, and you canNOT wear life jackets on the slides. So the 3 year olds won't be able to go down the slide at the Grand.

At PPH, however, the slide doesn't go into the pool, it ends in a shallow bit of water well away from the pool, so the rules are easier there.

They may not. But regardless, it's dishonest. And if they do check, you're going to be in trouble if you don't have another room and it's a week when everything is booked.
