The airhead has been on the phone and had the nerve to yell at me for picking up the phone to try to make a call....I have just as much right to the phone as she does since I pay an equal amount for the line. The worst part is all she's doing is fighting with her boyfriend....I'm trying to arrange things with Roger so that he gives me a ride to school because it's way too cold and wet out there to walk.

You can get cell phone plans very cheaply these days and usually they'll give you the phone for free. That way you wouldn't have to share a line.

I agree with todays cel phone wars, you can get a good deal for less than a household phone line.

Ans this way when the kids need to get in touch they can always find you.

That's a good idea but considering the amount SHE uses it, she should have to buy it....I'll still probably do it, though. Ratsrule, neither one of them is old enough to use a phone LOL (they're almost 6 and almost 3) but if they were that would be a good reason.

you'd be surprised how fast they grow up, Becki. my girls started using the phone by the time they were 8. my younger one is 1o and has my cell phone number and her father's cell phone number memorized. my older one -- who'll be 12 next week -- is already asking for her own cell phone.

No!!!!! (putting hands over my ears) I don't want my babies to get too grown up too fast.

I agree with RR. What if there is an emergency with your children and they keep getting a busy signal when they try to call you?
:(

Are your roomates a lot younger than you?

my DD started using the phone when she was 5-ish.

I agree, you need to get a cell phone and tell your roommate that she can pay all the bill, you don't need the phone anymore. With a cell phone, yout kids, or their dad if an emergency comes up, can get in touch with you no matter what.

I would definitely buy a cell phone and then tell her that you will not be helping out with the cost of the house phone. If she asks why, just tell her that you are paying for it and can never use it because she seems to be on it all the time. I know alot of people that took out their home phone and strictly use a cell phone now. Because it was the same amount or cheaper.

Yeah, my roommates are all @ 21. I guess if they will agree to my not paying part of the phone bill, I will go ahead and get a cell phone....I just hope they will agree to it.

Buy the cellphone for your own calls and tell the roommate you'll no longer be contributing towards the land-based phone, as you don't ever get a chance to use it anyway!
