Does anyone know the best place to purchase a Roomba vacuum? All of them are expensive but just looking out for how to get the best possible deal. Moving into a house with the whole first floor having hard wood and desperate to find a great way to keep them clean :)

I'm not sure where you will find the best deal on one, but none of the models do a fabulous job keeping the floors clean as a main vacuum. They are okay for a secondary cleaning but you will still want to haul out your big vacuum & use a steam mop or damp microfiber mop.

Check out HSN. Theirs usually comes with extra accessories, like an extra electronic wall and the charger that it automatically goes to when finished. Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20 percent coupon might be a good price too. I had one quite a few years ago when we first moved into our new house that broke and never replaced it. I think they make them better now, but I have hardwood floors in just about the entire house and it was good until I started placing large area rugs in the rooms and more furniture and it was always just getting stuck in places. I think they would be fine for a small house with minimal furniture, but I have found a small cordless vac meets my needs to pick up the daily dog hair in the nooks and crannies, and then I use my big Dyson to to the rugs.

I agree with this. We tried three Roomba models before giving up and getting a Neato. The Neato worked much better IMO but eventually it gave out too. So we didn't replace it. I have a mint now and while it doesn't vacuum the floor it "swiffers" the floor. I would definitely recommend those. I run mine three times a day using the washable clothes that come with the mint.
