I have a APH reservation at PBH for a Bay View room. I have 2 YouFirst credits. With 2 credits, I think I am entitled to a room upgrade (if available). What is the next room category room I can request for the upgrade?

The room up from a bayview is a deluxe.

With 2 credits you must mean 2 stay credits. When you log into your Youfirst account it should tell you that you are Blue status. This entitles you to a free upgrade at checkin if available. By that it means you would have to book a standard garden view and then at checking get upgraded to a bayview. You cannot be upgraded to deluxe or suites by the rules. Now if the front desk does it out of kindness that's a different story. This goes for all three onsite hotels. :thumbsup2

Question about the stay credits..
For our February stay next year I will have two stay credits. So I will be able to get an upgrade when we get there (subject to availability of course).
Once I use that upgrade to I have to start all over again? Or do you get more stay credit on every trip regardless?
Just wondering what the conditions are:)

Credits don't get used up. They just put you at a certain status for the year.

Yes they are 2 stay credits and my status is Blue. So I have a Bay View room now that I booked with the AP discount. Are you saying they will not upgrade me to any other room category if something is available?

That is correct, unless you are lucky with the checkin desk. :thumbsup2

Just curious - these are the written rules that I saw in the link you posted:

*All upgrades are applicable to certain room and suite types only and subject to availability. Blue members receive a room upgrade, if available, upon arrival. Gold members receive an upgrade to a premium room, if available, guaranteed at time of reservation. Gold members can also enjoy a suite upgrade for only $50 per night, if available upon arrival. Platinum members receive a premium upgrade, if available, guaranteed at time of reservation. Platinum members receive a suite upgrade, if available at time of reservation, at no additional cost.

Just wondering if it is written anywhere that blue must book a garden and can only receive a bayview upgrade. Or if its just common knowledge. I know the suites are out. Thanks!

I'm platinum so I get to book a suite but my sister went with me and she is blue and they upgraded her to deluxe.

I guess things may have changed or they just did a nice thing!

To the OP - when are you going? I have always found Portofino above all the rest to be very accommodating with upgrades when they can. If it were me, I would leave the reservation alone and ask for an upgrade at check in if they have one.

Going at the end of July. I'm not going to change anything with the reservation and will definately ask at check in. ;)

I saw that too. When I was blue, we used to go on off season with plenty of rooms and always ended up with water view at check in, maybe that's just RPR.:confused3

I like Gold now and would love Platinum, but not my wallet getting there. This next visit we ended up being upgraded to a suite for free before getting there. It was due to problems on last visit though, we will take it for the 9 days.:goodvibes

Ohhh that makes sense because there aren't any deluxe rooms at RPR.

Are you staying at RPR or PBH this coming trip? Very nice that they upgraded you - gotta love Loews customer service.:thumbsup2 9 days in a suite - awesome!

nevermind - just saw your ticker!

Always RPR.

It's nice they did it on a long stay instead of an extended weekend.

With your track record - it's smart they did it! Nice too.

Have you stayed at all 3? I haven't stayed at RPR in a few years. It's time! My kids never want to stay there - will have to leave them home. The last few years we have been at HRH and PBH.

My brother has stayed once at HRH and said RPR was much better all around. I have only stayed at RPR. We do like to pool hop to HRH for swimming, slide, and Beachclub poolside. Last trip we took the boat over to PBH. We were not impressed at all. To far from everything, way to big and spread out, and gave us that cold cheesy feeling.

I guess we just love the laid back feeling and atmosphere at RPR. Also it's normally cheaper which means more trips.:thumbsup2

Your upgrade(if available) would be deluxe. Deluxe rooms are a little bigger and a little nicer, but honestly I prefer the bay view. Most people would probably disagree with me. I'm sure you will LOVE either.

the ambiance at RPH is what swayed me to try it there.

i have stayed at all 3 hotels.
had over 20 stays at hrh before i tried RPH.

rph is my home now and i love everything about that hotel.
it has a great lobby, and has a calming atmosphere.

jessicaR, the only thing that might through you off at rph is the room size on the standard rooms. the rph hotel rooms are smaller than the other two hotels.
i always book a king suite for the extra room.

go figure.....

i go solo and like the extra space.
