Room Surveys?

So I was relaxing in my room with my sick daughter when I heard voices in the living room...I got up and I think I surprised 2 workers. They told me they were doing a room survey and left to go across the hall. I watched for 15 min as they had the door cracked open, finally my curiosity got the best of me and I peeked in and they were just sitting there! Anyone else heard of room surveys when you aren't present??
