room setup

We stayed at OKW a couple weeks ago in a 2-bedroom. We usually stay in a studio at BWV. My question is this, is a 2-bedroom only rented as a 2-bedroom? I thought that it could be rented as a 1-bedroom while renting the studio to someone else. But after staying in one we realize there is not a kitchenette in the extra bedroom. How are these rented? We are always trying to figure out how this all works. Also, do all the OKW studios have balconys.

OKW has both dedicated and lockoff 2 bedrooms. A dedicated 2 bedroom can only be a 2 bedroom. There is no kitchenette in the second bedroom & no second entrance into the second bedroom (extra closet instead). A lockoff 2 bedroom would be a 1 bedroom plus a studio with the kitchenette and second entrance in the studio part. All OKW studios have a balcony. The second bedroom in a dedicated 2 bedroom does not have a balcony.

BWV does not have any dedicated 2 bedrooms, all are lockoffs. VWL and BCV has both types.

If you stay at OKW in a two bedroom, they try to give you a dedicated before they give you a lock-off. I have always gotten a dedicated when we stayed in an OKW two bedroom.

There's no outside door so they could not rent it separately. Thus no need for the kitchenette in the second. The combo of dedicated 2 BR and lockoff's give the most flexibility for the least cost.

I would NEVER do this.

first of all even in a lock off - there is only ONE key - do you want people who are renting from you to have access to YOUR room.

I wouldn't.

you would have to be carry full with your charge priviledges only put it on your card.

most people who rent like to charge to their room key - this would not be possible in this situation.

be very careful if you attempt this.

I don't think the OP wanted to rent out part of a 2 bedroom, I think she was just asking a general question as to the room setup.

Yeah, OP meant having DVC rent the room seperately not the person with the 2BR sub-letting it to another person for $$$
