Can you order from the dining room menu or just the few items I've seen listed on the room service menu? (from navigator posts)

I have been waitlisted for early seating for my upcoming Dec cruise. I am fortunate to have no medical conditions and my son is almost 12 at cruising time. So I accept there is a good chance my request may not be met.

The problem is I am usually a 5pm eater. By 6:30 I'm ready to start peeling the paint of the walls to have something to eat. So I will probably be very good friends with the room service server by the end of the trip.

I don't think you can order from the regular dining room menus unless you are in a Cat 1 or 2? The room service menu is very limited, but you can always go to Plutos for burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches etc as well, to keep you from eating the paint! :goodvibes

The room service menus is limited. When I had the late seating I sometimes order cheese and crackers or tomatoe soup from room service at about 5PM. Once I had ice cream at Scoops. :earsgirl:

:goodvibes There is also Topsiders Buffet Supper, it is open all supper hours for a walk-in dinner for anyone...We ate there 2 or 3 times on our first cruise, as your children were much younger. After our head server realized why, he called us with a different table number every night for the early seating.. What he did was give us a table from people eating at PALO.. Do not give up, and you can also try to board EARLY and go to the designated area for reservations, and request a change there. You may not have a big problem.

Hope that helped.. :goodvibes

Thank you I understand now why some people talk about ordering anything off room service -they are concierge!

I'm still hoping that I can get switched but I understand they have to move people for medical reasons first and families with small children before us lowly paint eaters. :rolleyes1 I'll just try to eat a really BIG lunch. I'll say I'm eating for two (meals that is) :rotfl:

I just got back and I don't think I was ever hungry the whole time on the ship. I ate all the time. There was always food around somewhere. Grab a late afternoon snack at Pluto's. The hamburgers were very good! The tacos were good too. Heck---all the food was good! I really miss it. The highlight of my cruise was the food!
