I don't understand. Why have it sit all night ? Why not just order coffee in the morning? Another idea is.... take a travel insulated cup. It's great for early morning walks on the deck.

I'm with you...plus you can just walk to deck 9 (if you feel like leaving your stateroom) and get your own at the beverage station or at the breakfast buffet.

Maybe it's for those that want it very early. Is there a "starting hour" for room service? I don't recall. I think you can do the "hang your order on your door" thing, too, with a time block to have it delivered.

We hung our order on our door every night and had coffee, tea, juice, and bagels delivered every morning right on time! They even called just before delivery so we knew it was on the way!
I would leave a few dollars out each night so I didn't have to search for tip $ before my morning caffeine! :p
Since my children wake up HUNGRY, it was the perfect way to start the day!

is perhaps if you were an early riser and the rest of the family liked to sleep in.

I know there was one morning I just wanted to slip on my robe and sit on the verandah with my book. So heading up to deck 9 wasn't an option, at least not a socially acceptable one IMHO! :o

Anyway, I didn't want to call for room service because it would have woken everyone else up. And occasionally I try not to rattle the cages of the teens!

That would have been a situation where having the carafe sitting there would have been nice. But I survived. Plus DH woke up within about half an hour and went up to Deck 9 for coffee.

I suppose that ordering it the night before would be good if you don't know how late you'll want to sleep and if you don't want to have to look human enough to answer the door in the morning.
But we always pre-order for morning delivery and use it as a wakeup call. When they come, I hide under the covers and let hubby answer the door, as he looks more human upon first waking up than I do.
If we're still tired, we've been known to nod off again after the delivery.
