Hi,
We've just got back from our DLH visit. We had room service 3 times, two evening meals and one lunchtime
The menu is quite expensive (I took photos of both the menu and food which I will get around to adding onto the DLH thread - only just coming round after the epic drive!)
The menu is a little limited, although I did ring and ask if I could just order a bowl of fries which they were happy to do.
DH had burger and fries with a little portion of coleslaw - the first time he ordered this it was quite pink so the next time he ordered it we asked for it very well done which was more to his taste
The burger was quite large and there was plenty of fries too 21.50E
I had an omlette with fries, again quite a large portion of fries and the omlette was a nice size (they call it a 4 egg omlette) and although I ordered cheese, a mushroom one arrived, but didn't mind as I like mushrooms anyway. That was 21E
Then DsD had tagliatelle with a bolognaise sauce, this was a large bowl of pasta which came with a little portion of parmesan (the choice was bolognaise sauce, carbonara or pesto) 20E
I had a cheesecake for pud which was topped with a red fruit coulis, which was lovely 12.50E
When room service arrived they laid the table for us with tablecloth, cutlery etc and also brought a bread basket, condiments, butter etc
I had a coffee which was about 6E and DH had a beer which was 9E
The second time we had the same but DsD had the children's menu which was 22E and was a choice of main - pasta with bolognaise sauce or chicken in breadcrumbs with fantasy potatoes and green beans or fillet of fish in breadcrumbs with rice and green beans. then it had a choice of dessert of fruit jelly or fruit yoghurt or white chocolate puzzle (a white chocolate jigsaw puzzle which came with food colouring paint and brushes for you to colour it in which was really cute) it also came with a choice of small drink
Lunchtime we had a cheese board (not great if you're not into french cheeses but great if you are) which came with 5 - 6 different cheeses, grapes, bread basket. Vegetable soup which came with croutons and I had another coffee with what they say is a "selection of biscuits" which was actually 2 chocolate cookies and 2 chocolate brownies with a chocolate stick and a couple of strawberries (looked pretty on the plate and was only 3E)
Overall we thought room service was the best "service" we got the whole stay at DLH as it arrived promptly and they were pleasant when bringing it, setting up the table etc, though it was expensive and choice was pretty limited, but to be able to have a hot meal in the room was a bonus for us
