What's the best strategy for requesting a certain tower at DLH? I know with WDW, it's common to call the hotel a day or two ahead of check-in to put in a request. Does the same hold true for DL? Anybody have a good upgrade story?

We stayed at DLH for the first time in December. When I first made my reservations, I requested a certain tower. They had that on file when I checked in and we got it.

We were also upgraded to a view room. No good story, we were just offered the upgrade.

I did the same thing as 94bruin and made a request for my preferred tower when I made the reservations. However, it's only a request, and it will only be fulfilled if there is room in that tower. My boyfriend and I received a free room upgrade on our trip last month. We didn't have to ask, we just got it. From what I've read on here, you're most likely to get a free room upgrade during the off season.

So which is the *good* tower? :)

You'll receive differing opinions on which tower is the best, but most people would probably say the Adventure Tower since it's the closest to the parks, and it's the only tower where you can see the fireworks from your room if you're facing the right direction. However, my personal favorite tower is the Fantasy Tower because I like having the lobby in the same building. Having the gift shop in the same tower doesn't hurt either. :goodvibes

We've only stayed at the DLH once and it was in the Fantasy Tower. It was nice to have the lobby in the same building as the gift shop. However, if we only had a standard room, I don't think it would have been as nice of an experience. Next time, I'll probably request the Adventure tower since I don't think you have the chance to look at the parking lot. I think it's either a pool or DTD view, if I'm not mistaken.
