Room requests for GCV and Aulani

I'd like to put in some room requests for both resorts for my trip in May, but I'm not exactly sure what to ask for.

1. GCV - I stayed there about 3 years ago in a studio, and my view was of a play area/course in DCA. Are there any studios with a view of Paradise Pier where I might be able to catch a glimpse of WOC?

2. Aulani - I also stayed there 3 years ago, but I had a pool view room in the Waianae building. They were still working on the biggest part of the Ewa section at that time. This time I have an island view room. I was thinking that I might request the Ewa side, and I've seen a few people mention that they were able to overlook the Starlit Hui area.

Any suggestions that folks have for requests (including specific room numbers or requesting odd/even, particular sections or floors, etc.) would be much appreciated!

For the VGC Studios, I placed a Room Request 10 deep. Credit of the list goes to Disneyland Board veteran Nonsuch. The first 7 are the Paradise Pier views; the last 3 are Grizzly River Run views. I got choice #4. Perfect view of the Pier area. We slept with the shades open, as they leave some of the park lights on all night. Good luck!

Thanks for that information! That was exactly what I was looking for!

Any suggestions from you Aulani folks? I checked out the Aulani views thread, but there doesn't seem to be many pictures from island view studios.

We've stayed in an island view ground floor in the Ewa tower and I have requested the same thing for our upcoming stay in a couple weeks. It was great to be right near the lawn for the Starlit Hui and the movies. Our first stay was in the other tower, also island view. There we overlooked the spa. Although all the soothing spa music was great, we prefer the Ewa tower!
