Room requests at HH - Am I asking for too much?

We have reserved a 1 bdrm villa at HH for mid-July. I have made the following requests in this order

1. non-smoking
2. non-handicapped accessible
3. marsh view

I'm wondering if I should drop the request for a marsh view. I would really like a marsh view but it wouldn't ruin my trip if we didn't get it.

If we ended up with a smoking room, it could spoil our trip.

If we ended up without a tub, my kids (4 and 1) would not bathe for 5 or 6 nights. Not the end of the world but it would certainly be unpleasant.

By requesting the marsh view, am I reducing the chance of getting my other two requests?

If we had a two bedroom reserved, I would leave the requests as is. There are so many more 2 bdrms at HH that I would think my requests would be easier to fill.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You should be fine. They try to honor requests in order of preference, so the marsh view should be filled after your 1st two.

There are only 21 1BR villas at the resort and 16 of them are in the lodge area (all of the HC villas are there also). The other 5 are located beneath the GV's in the other buildings.

I wouldn't change the request at all. Most of the 16 1BR villas in the lodge area already have some view of the marsh- so you'll likely be alright there anyway.

If the only reason you are requesting the non-handicapped accessible is to ensure that you have a bathtub, I think you can delete that request, and just go with the non-smoking/marsh view.

I've never stayed in a handicapped accessible room at HH, but I think they all have tubs. The only time you have to worry about not having a tub is with a handicapped-accessible studio, which has only the shower....

You are absolutely correct! The HC 1BR villas still have the jacuzzi tub and a roll-in shower.

I have always been told to put my requests in the order of importance. It sounds like that is what you did. When we stayed at Hilton Head, we got a studio in the Lodge, & it did overlook the marsh; it was very peaceful to sit outside. Enjoy!

Thanks everybody. That's great news about the tub. I didn't realize that it was only the studios that lacked the tub. I'm so glad I asked here before I called Member Services and deleted my marsh view request.
